City Alerts service confirms ground given ok

Truro City Chairman Kevin Heaney is delighted to announce the FA Ground Grading success for Treyew Road this afternoon.  Delegates from the FA and the Football Conference spent the afternoon scrutinising the ground and facilities, as well as the administrative requirements to retain membership in the Football Conference. The visitors were in awe of the improvements made, commenting that it looked like a different ground!  Credit has to be given to the group of volunteers led by Chris Webb in building, painting, cleaning and strimming over the past few weeks.  Kevin Heaney said: "The ground has been buzzing with activity the last few days and I cannot say a big enough thank-you to all those who have given up their spare time to help the club in this way ".

All improvements were passed and the inspectors also highly commended the medical facilities, saying they were some of the best they had seen.  Kevin also paid tribute to the club officials who engineered and coordinated the whole review process, thus ensuring Truro City is regarded as having the highest quality pitch in the county

Ground maybe but not pitch Mr Heaney.

Not according to the CCFA, try Mount Wise Stadium for that accolade !

Apart from having a nice surface at Truro, it is shame that they don't have the quality to progress further and waste more of the mans money. Truro, along with any other club in the County will never, ever, be able to compete with Argyle for fans in the Duchy. If Truro made League 2 they may get 1,500 for home games, Argyle in Conf Sth would still get double that crossing the border to watch them.

You keep reminding us the CCFA are a clueless bunch of wallies, but that's when you don't get your own way.

Well done Truro City, Well done Chris Webb, Well done the supporters who volunteered their time and effort to achieve what they set out to do, Well Done Paul the groundsman for providing Cornwall's best playing surface.

It was mentioned in the Budget money would be available for small cities, TCFC will welcome a slice of that, it's nice to see the Government are appreciative of how much Cornwall needs it's City.

How many Cup Finals has Truro staged since the man took over ?, How many actual awards have been gained as opposed to trophies won in the last 7 years ? No one outside Truro City counts the club as being 'local' anymore, they do not appear on the radar of CCFA or anyone else outside the club. If it wasn't for Dave Deacons obsession with the club, it almost certainly wouldn't even appear on a Cornish Football Forum.

Newquay AFC have won the CCFA 'Groundsman of the Year' award for 2012-13, it staged the SWPL Cup Final last season, the CCFA Cornwall Junior & Senior Cup Finals this season amongst various other 'grass roots' finals that City will not remember as they pulled up the ladder as they climbed.

City are like this awful Government, out of touch with reality, out of touch with the 'normal' people... and out in 2015 !

I'm actually obsessed with Cornish football Nemesis, not just Truro City!

Whatever, I don't really understand your train of thought that Truro shouldn't appear on a Cornish based forum linked to non-league football. If Newquay were in the same position, that's at the level of Conference South (although currently entitled the Blue Square Bet South due to sponsorship), at the second level of the National League System, instead of Level 11, they too would probably have more profile too.

As to asking how many Cup Finals have Truro staged since Kevin Heaney took over, his retort (and no doubt City supporters as well) should probably be:"which is more important general goody/goody awards or promotions directly involving the team?"

I'm a HAPPY City supporter who follows the team away average expenditure £40 per game, I would like to attend the Home games as well unfortunately as a lone traveller I cannot afford £100 for petrol to do so, if only there were those to car share to spread the expense like those travelling away from Cornwall do so regularly when they each put £20/25 in the pot.

The majority of teams in the Blue Square Bet South have to accept they may lose as many games as they may win, this is due to the high standard of football they compete at, we all know it is harder to play away and travel takes it's toll on those competing, despite that the team has performed in a manner for us to be proud of them even though we may have lost, there have only been a couple of games we were disappointed with the performance.

I know I would get more enjoyment and see much better football watching one Blue Square Bet South game than a Cornwall Senior Cup Final, I think the minnows who enjoy swimming around in their own little pond will always be happy knowing that at the end of the day they won't be accepting promotion to a higher level if they won the right for promotion.

It is refreshing when talking to those coming to games from Cornwall reveal that they come from towns and villages the length and breadth of the Duchy.

Yes we have learned that you can still enjoy a game despite losing, at the end of the day we have seen a good standard of football and enjoyed the company of so many nice people.

So there's no need to move from Treyew Rd then ? :ninja:
