Truro City FC v Hemel Hempstead Town

Recommended Posts

Hemel Hempstead Town are currently mid-table. They have a better record away than at home so far this season, 9 points gained at home but 13 gained away on their travels.

Their top scorer on 14 goals Dennis Fenemore is currently the 2nd highest scorer in the division.

I missed the last home game so looking forward to this one.

I was at Hemel Hempstead for the away game in September, a game Truro City could have won ended as a one-all draw on a day fate conspired against us, Truro were held up on the motorway near Swindon, arrived late and started the game with little warm up time at 3.20 pm, the delay obviously affected the team performance which was not helped by the assist the referee gave Hemel when scoring their goal, an innocent clearance from defence hit the referee and ran back towards the City defence with everyone wrong footed, it was easy for Hemel to accept their gift goal, THOSE TWO POINTS could be crucial at the end of the season, if only the ref had evened things up and laid on a pass for a Truro goal.

Hemel lost out away to Cambridge City last week 3-2 at Cambridge who got the winner after 82 mins so we are aware of a possible banana skin but I think a three goal win margin for Truro City is the most likely outcome.

Blimey.....

Look at Tivvy and Weymouth!! Talk about a footballing disaster. Dropping like a stone. 2 lovely non league grounds. So many questions to why they are were they are but the tables dont lie. Could be along old season. Truro and Salisbury pulling away now for the one automatic spot.

i think the midweek game against salisbury could be the title decider at this rate. so truro may need to get some goal difference going up before that game just incase its needed. common truro!!

Only half way through the season, the next three away games at Hednesford Town (real hard one), Cambridge City (we play them twice Away then Home) and Chesham United (who won 3-0 at Truro) could make things very difficult before we play Salisbury City, that's without hard games at Stourbridge and Chippenham Town followed by a tough home game late in the season against Leamington. - That's eight games we could struggle to get points from, it wouldn't surprise me if we dropped 12 points out of the 24.

It would be nice to avoid the play-offs but I think Truro City will have to make sure they finish SECOND if Salisbury win the league, the second placed team have HOME advantage in both the play off semi final and final.

Bigger fan support needed to drive the lads on.

It shouldn't be overlooked that Truro's rivals ALSO have difficult games coming up.

Not quite as many - It pays dividends when people keep their feet firmly on the gound,

a long way to go and a lot of points to be WON (or lost if getting too cocky).

One big assest with the Truro City players is there is NO cockiness shown by any of them.
