Congratulations

Recommended Posts

I know this is slightly premature, but congratulations to Barcelona,European Champions.

United wont win this game if they were there all week.

Absolute pants.

Barcelona only got half a side playing.

No ,Marquez,Dani Alves or Abidal,Henry only half fit,and still played United off the park.

All that striking talent,Ronaldo,Rooney,Berbatov and Tevez and cant score against a patched up Barca

defence.

So called big, players failing in a big game.

i think Valdes can put his gloves on after the game to collect the cup as cant remember him having to make a save other than the free kick early on, unbelievable lol! think its safe to say the post and some good saves from Van Der Sar saved a far more embarresing scorline, well done Barca!! :D

Iniesta man of the match ran the game for 90 minuets

Thought Michael Carrick was trying to force the ball too much.

Maybe missed Darren Fletchers engine in there today.

Barcelona wanted it more on the day great team performance all round.

Barcelona playing with a weak back, 4 they were so disciplined, PK at the back a rock tonight.

Never mind gurantee you United come back stronger. History shows they do.

Wait and see

United are letting Age Concern sponsor their shirts next year and there will be bottles of Sanatogen in the dressing room in case anybody's nose isn't purple enough. The incontinence pads for Giggs and Scholes will be arriving in bathchairs at Old Trafford every Pension Day.

Nice one enjoy yourself Isaac, doesn't look like Shane the *uckwit has been allowed to stay up late enough to make a post (thought being half term he would have been allowed?) so we'll have to go with your rants for now.....

hope you still have a sense of humour when Everton lift the FA Cup on Saturday

Congratulations to Barcelona who were as Sir Alex pointed out the best team on the night and outplayed us all over the park. Thought we got it wrong in team selection but you have to give the most successful manager the english game has ever seen some room for error now and again.

Personally dissapointed but we'll have to make do with just the four trophies for the season then (and thats 4 more than any of the other so called big four) let's do it all again next season if your up for it???????

Hopefully spurs will do us the same deal as Liverpool and we can send that useless bag of Bulgarian shite back to part pay for Tevez. And then when some mug pays up £70m for Ronaldo we can buy some decent midfielders....

cheers everyone for a hell of a season and roll on Title number 19 next season..... :drink:

It must be so irksome for you that you still fall just short of Liverpool statistically. How interesting that the majority of British contributors were pleased by the result. American capitalism is hated almost as much as Ferguson. I think the 4-1 home defeat followed by the usual friendly referee against Villa just kept your hands on the title, but this defeat has gone deep. As for the midweek pub trophy, well, I did support you because of the nature of your opposition. Unlike at least three of your recent Wembley appearances, I'm delighted that Barcelona saved us the goalless tedium of waiting for penalties. What was the other trophy ? Does anybody care ? Falmouth Reserves generated bigger interest in the Sup Cup.

Enjoy Chelsea wrapping up the biggie tomorrow.

Moreover, compare your perfromance to Chelsea's being robbed in the semi and I'm sure you'll agree that justice, even though administered by Platini, was eventually done.

I'm so delighted that I shall dispatch my daughter to Truro College with champagne for the Spanish assistant.

Where's Gillian, aged 10 ? Needing counselling, no doubt.....

Pass the Sanatogen, Purple Nose !

My apologies Rodders for the delay. I have been away through the week, perhaps the same place you disappeard to in January when your side were equally battered by the oldies at OT. Ive only just caught all your blinded nonsense. You mention the pads for Giggs etc. Perhaps he was still struggling to get around the pitch with having Ballack Mikel and Lamps still in his pocket from that day, along with all his other medals this season surely this would weigh anyone down!? You also mention the American blah blah blah owners of United in another thread. Is this not the same premise your own club are trying to copy in their poor attempts at global domination? Where would your club be if it were not for the bank rolling Russian? I agree Barca is amazingly run and a credit to themselves with all they do for Unicef, a charity United are also strongly linked to. Have to think that its not at all interesting regarding Uniteds popularity. What did you expect from your poll? The result would be similar if you ran the same "experiment" if Liverpool, Arsenal or even your own boo hoo, we was robbed, its all the refs fault boys made the final. Thats the nature of 95% of football fans, no-one ever wants to see their biggest rivals gain success. Therefore i think we can conclude the your "experiment", much like most of your posts and your little life in general pretty much null and void! This my final response to your immature nonsense so I will wish your club all the best in there quest to actually win a trophy. I am off to cut the grass, probably more interesting than the final, lets hope Chelsea dont park the bus ....again! I may even be really clever, funny and scientific and see who is more popular, Everton, a team of the people with history and a superb up and coming manager or Chelsea..........

Regarding the game. I think its safe to say that United were outclassed on THAT night. This, however, does not take away from the fact United are clearly the best side in our own great country. Nor does this performance make United a bad side overnight. Mr Ferguson will see where things went wrong and work his wine glass into the wee small hours making things right again. The fact is every single United player played at 50%, at best, on Wednesday whereas every single Barca player played superbly. United will come back bigger better and stronger.

Russians....they're okay, they have a good socialist history: that's the kind of imperial domination I can respect. The only thing Scholes will have in his pocket shortly will be a P45. Probably right about the wineglass....look at the indications of circulatory difficulties in the face and the wheezing cough, however; he doesn't have long to live and has far too big an ego to groom a successor. Ferguson and Kim Jong Il would make a good combination. Ezxploding a nuclear bomb under one's own empire, as on Wednesday night, extends the parallel.

Park the bus ?? Oh, you mean the occasion when Drogba stuffed you in extra time and I got thrown out of Truro City clubhouse for dancing on the chairbacks?

I've just realised that you're not who I thought you were. You're the wrong Gillian ! Your brother was a decent player at Aggie: we nearly put in 7 days for him once. But not you. Bit more Phil than Gary, I guess. That explains your inherent tendency to be a bit of a resentful underling, I suppose.

Time to change your picture to one of pouty Ronaldo with a loser's medal and grinning Platini, methinks.

Would welcome the Great Berba back with open arms!

I wonder if Berba regrets leaving a club where the fans appreciated what he gave the team, as opposed to going to his 'dream' club where the fans appear to prefer their strikers to run around like headless chickens, but not do what they're actually paid for, score goals and make assists!

For example let's take the above quote from our armchair-based Manchester United fan, and look at the stats for the main two areas I believe a striker is judged on, Goals & Assists!

Berbatov - 2008/09 season (all competitions)

Mins on pitch = 2,920

Goals = 14 - 1 goal per 208 mins

Assist = 16 - 1 assist per 182.5 mins

Carlos Tevez - 2008/09 season (all competitions)

Mins on pitch = 2,795

Goals = 13 - 1 goal per 215 mins

Assist = 5 - 1 assist per 559 mins

Now isn't that interesting, Berba was not only more prolific in front of goal, he also provided a lot more goal scoring opportunities for the rest of his team...... not bad for 'a useless bag of Bulgarian shite'

Maybe base your opinions on something other than the propaganda that The Sun, The Mirror or Sky Sports shove down our throats day in, day out!

Of course he doesn't the one thing he does have is ambition

I'm sure given 2 mins to get the ball under control and 3 mins to work out which shin he wants to hit it with that Berby could be a good forward, but that isn't the premier league...and he's a luxury we can do without.

you can have him back anytime you want (do you need a penalty taker?) :yahoo:

How about a swap.

Berbatov for Keane.

Man Utd can have two headless chickens running around ,then. :D

Sounds perfect to me!

The silly Manc fans love a striker who works hard, but doesn't give you many goals or assists.

I'm sure given 2 mins to get the ball under control and 3 mins to work out which shin he wants to hit it with that Berby could be a good forward, but that isn't the premier league...and he's a luxury we can do without.

He must've sorted his control a little quicker when he scored the winner against Middlesboro at home in a Utd 1-0 win, away to Newcastle in a 2-1 win & away to Bolton in a 1-0 win.

Seems that 'luxury' player gained your boys 6 extra points in the league this season, and without those 6 points I think it would've been a runners-up spot for the mighty Red Devils! ;)

you can have him back anytime you want (do you need a penalty taker?) :yahoo:

The big man scored a very important equalising penalty for the Lilywhites at Wembley in the Carling Cup Final 2008, maybe he just cared more then!! ^_^

Rodders just to let you know I am NOT the brother of Lee from Aggie. Please remember this for future, Ive told you this info before, perhaps dementia is setting in!? As for the 7 days. Who are you trying to convince? You would just phone them, offer them a few grand to sign for the Tinners then the usual £s per game, offer to pick them up before each game, drive them to the airport before any holiday, a new pair of boots and to clean those boots regulaly. Then you may put the 7 days.

Will ignore the rest of your jibberish but just one question. Why would Fergie have to groom a manager for the future? Please state when this has been done before by any ohter club. Do the Chelsea managers groom their replacements? Surely there is not the time with the club changing every few months!?

Not that far off the mark, although actually the lady from Falmouth who does the cleaning and picks up all our clothes for ironing used to clean the boots as well.

When a team updates, changes and presents development objectives rather than depending on a surly old pensioner about to sip Granny Graveclothes' Tea, there is less need for a "handover" or succession. Chelsea can get any brilliant coach they want: your lot, sooner or later, will struggle to fill the old git's boots.

When's Darren Ferguson starting ? :D

Where are these brilliant managers you speak of isaac? Ranieri, won a couple of cups I think but never close to challenging at the top. Mourinho did very well, with someone elses side. What happened when he started to make the team his own, he lost threw his toys out and got sacked. Grant, do I really need to explain, Scolari, see Grant. Hiddink, very good manager.

Mmm stability with a manager who re-invents himself and his squad time after time despite liking a bit of wine or a crazy russian who likes to think he actually knows about football and changes his manager every time someone says no to him.

Gillo, as a Man Utd fan, do you fear for where UTD will go without Fergie?

Currently Fergie is Manchester United, he's has built the place to be his own and is therefore untouchable, like Shankly was at Liverpool. No player is greater than Fergie within Man Utd

I see Fergie retiring within 3 years, who would you want in to replace him?

Link to comment

In refference to who we may want to replace Fergie, i would say said manager doesn't have to be a foriegn superstar. but one who can speak fluent English, commands a presence and respect from his players and can adapt with the times and certain players such as fergie has.

Martin O'Niel?

Possibly jose, although may not be ideal replacement.

I'd be over the moon if you had O'Neill, I think he'd be rubbish at Utd. He's good at dealing with certain types of players and getting 100% out of them!

Could he coach Ronaldo, Ferdinand, Vidic into being better players? I don't think so!

Mourinho however would be a different kettle of fish, he'd command respect

Three years is a long time in football Darren! In that time someone might emerge who is off the radar at the moment. However if they continue the way they've started what about Zola and Clarke as an outside bet!

Mourinho and Ranieri have gone on to achieve highly elsewhere as well as at Chelsea. I was desperately disappointed that Mourinho left, as he is almost as much of a legend as Steve Curnow. At least we agree on Hiddink. Shankly had Moran, Fagan and the tradition of the boot room to follow him......where's yours ? Kidd did his best so he got thrown out. Queerass has been given the boot too. Mike Phelan (ha ha). The legion of ex-Utd superdonkeys in management such as Ince, Bruce and Hughes have achieved what, exactly ? Earlier comments about o@neill were spot on.

You will end up with Darren Ferguson, as Old Purple Nose. like Cloughie in his day, believes himself far more important thasn any mere director or club owner. And Ovid's tale of Daedalus and Icarus (Metamorphoses 8)will be material to that cocky little prat !

Chelsea can get any coach they want as they have done over the past couple of years but where has that got them??if they got a manager and let him settle and spend instead of throwing money away on different managers then maybe chelsea could become a force in the league again but what happens if carlo doesnt deliver the champ leauge or the league will he get the boot straight away, im sure rom will have him straight out and throw more money at another manager.maybe rom should look at united, liverpool and arsenal even everton and see that a manager needs time to settle and be succesful.I agree that chelsea would love to have fergi as the manager as he is proven 1 of the greatest managers of our time and im a liverpool fan saying that. im chuffed barca put united to the sword but barca where the better team by far, yes i think fergi got the team selection wrong but any manager could have managed that barca team and won. we will see if fergi bounces back next season but im sure chelsea will have a bigger say in the tittle next year and hopfully rafa will bring the title us liverpool fans are craving for.

What has Ranieri done since he left then Isaac? Mourinho? Oh yea he has won a league with a side that has won the same league for the previous 3 seasons, with someone elses side, mmm brilliant!

As for your very good question Darren. Im really not sure what will happen in the future. It will obviously be a MASSIVE job for anyone to take over! Sure as hell do not want O'Neill there, think what you said is spot on!! Mourinho Im really not to sure about. I can only think that his arrogance would take over everything and he would do what he always does and make everything about himself. At the minute I would like Moyes, hes Scottish(as are so many of the greats), he is modest, comes across well, and seems to like to bring through the youth players which much of Uniteds success has been built on over the years.

I can see the cycle ending as it always does in football. I do not think it will be as dramatic as previous falls from grace that United and Liverpool have suffered because of the monies the club generates they will always be able to buy, supposedly, the biggest players.

Just hope when the lean years come I dont become bitter and twisted, blame league officers for not doing exactly as I want and suddenly changing which trophies are the biggest and best to win depending on which ones United are still in. That would be just tragic!

No need to change idiot. Will keep it hear as a reminder to you regarding the bottling loser that is your club captain and how he completely shanked his potential moment of glory and put THAT pen wide. Allowing good ol Edwin to save the penalty that saw United crowned European Champions for the 3rd time. Better luck next time should your russian mafia brought side make the final ever again.

Yours sincerely

Supporter of Premier League winners(3 times on the trot), Carling Cup winners, Club World Cup Champions, Community Shield winners and Manchester Senior Cup Winners

Isaac I know your fanatical obsession with me means that I am constantly on your mind but please try not to let it spill over into conversations in which I am not involved - it just means I have to follow your ramblings around the forum looking for digs at me to reply to and to be honest I have better things to do. If I didn't think it would give such immense joy I would leave this forum as I am tired of your constant abuse, but I don't think I could bring myself to bestow that much pleasure on you and so I will, therefore, remain your most ardent detester. I thank Perranporth first team in my prayers every night for getting promotion to the SWPL and removing the likelihood of my crossing paths with you in the flesh next season
