Probus 8 (Tyler Cheshire 4, Sam Bullen 2, Dan Vincent, Adam Bishop) St Keverne 1

Probus started well and took the lead in the 2nd minute through Adam Bishop. They then increased their lead inside the first half an hour, when Justin Trebilcock’s through ball reached new signing Tyler Cheshire (making his return to the club), and he finished well into the roof of the net. Probus had a couple of other attempts that were scrambled away from near the line, with the officials unable to see if the ball had crossed the line, despite the Probus players being adamant the ball was over the line. 2-0 at halftime.
St Keverne came out quickly in the second half and from their keepers kick, they reduced the arrears when their number 2 ran through unopposed, with the home defence absent, and he finished well. Probus got their 2 goal advantage back when a Dan Vincent cross wasn’t cleared and Sam Bullen put the ball into the net. 2 minutes later and Sam Bullen’s excellent cross field ball found strike partner Tyler Cheshire, and he finished well. Dan Vincent was getting joy down the St Keverne left and he created the next goal when he crossed for skipper, Sam Bullen, to finish. Dan Vincent’s best run resulted in goal number 6, when he picked the ball in his own half and ran to the byline and Tyler Cheshire finished to mark his hat-trick. Sam Bullen then had a shot and the keeper saved well, but the ball ended up at Tyler Cheshire’s feet, and he again finished well. The final goal was scored, when Dan Vincent was brought down in the box, and he got up to score from the spot, despite the keeper getting a leg to it. Final score 8-1.
St Keverne kept going and battled hard, but they were beaten by the better team on the day. No fixture for Probus next week, before they gave St Keverne again on 10th February in their next game.

Troon Res 4-1 Constantine Res

The sun was shining on a decent afternoon at Grouter Park. Having drawn with the league leaders the week before we needed to follow up with another positive result. Several regulars missing but with the help of several U18’s we got a squad together. Scrappy first half but we got an early goal which settled us and then grabbed another to put us 2-0 up at half time.
2nd half was better and we got a 3rd well worked goal before Constantine pulled one back but we managed to kill the game off with a good 4th goal. Ended the game with 5 under 18’s playing and 3 of them scoring which was most pleasing.
2 tough games back to back against Storm over the next 2 weeks now.
