ST JUST 4 HELSTON ATHLETIC 0

Important win for The Tinners, at an unseasonably cold Lafrowda, to take the championship to a remarkable decider this Saturday.

Ashley Ellis hit the opener with a fine angled drive just before the break, then got his second soon after the restart. George Harry struck home a lovely left-footer just after returning to the field as a rolling sub, then Scott Meagor touched in the fourth from very close range.

A bit of mixed Helston side - included first team captain Josh Storey, but also 4 members of the under-16s squad. They enjoyed some very good spells and the final margin of victory was perhaps a little flattering, skewed somewhat by three goals in very quick succession in the second half.

So the final Combo championship will be decided when Praze host St Just at Nancegollan this Saturday in their last game. If Full-Time and my maths are correct (two big asks!) the winner will take the title. A draw would mean St Just, with a a better goal difference, would then need a further point from their final game at home to Culdrose next Thursday to nab it.

Correct James, whoever wins on Saturday will win the league. Should be an excellent game and one not to be missed 👌

Excellent report. Thank you. Didn't know under-16s were allowed to play in men's football these days, however. Lafrowda unseasonably cold ! Surely not! We're usually insulated by a heat haze of grey stuff. I'm sure Mr Storey got a warm welcome to Lafrowda too. Ringers are always hospitably entertained, though I've always felt it's a mistake to arrive intestate.
