Truro City Leaving Treyew Road. 12 Months On, What Next?

Recommended Posts

It was announced on January 20th 2021 that Truro City would be leaving their home at Treyew Road for a temporary ground share with Plymouth Parkway at Bolitho Park with "plans already underway to hopefully commence on a new multi-million-pound facility which is aimed to be completed in preparation for the start of the 2022/23 season."

Well, as we have now passed the 12 month anniversary of that announcement, what progress has actually been made and can it be assumed that Truro City will be spending the 2022/23 season as tenants at Bolitho Park? Would have thought that somebody from either City or the Pirates would have used this milestone passing as an opportunity for an update.

As Truro are on a roll  and could get promotion to the National League will facilities at Bolitho Park  have to be improved or will they negotiate with Torquay United again ? (IF)

Have rthey submitted anl  application to join the higher league ?

If Truro then have to move geographically further away from their home town, what does that do to their chances of sustainable football at that level? There has to be a time when the lack of any meaningful number of home supporters impacts them financially? You can’t rely on visiting supporters to significantly support such an expensive side?

I think it's safe to assume that Truro will be playing at Plymouth Parkway again next season. Not good for the football club and its fans. On another note, updates on the Stadium for Cornwall are few and far between. Again, something else that's disappointing at the moment.

I'd be surprised if Truro gain promotion this season. Whilst the play offs are mathematically within reach, their form has been far too inconsistent.
