Cornish keeper eliminates Manchester City in F A cup

Recommended Posts

A star performance for Christian Walton in goal for Wigan who defeated Manchester City in one of the great F A Cup giant killing acts.

Born at Wadebridge and England U19,U20 and u21 International

Son of cricketer Tim Walton I believe

Following on the Cornish goalkeeping tradition of Nigel Martyn and Kevin Miller

As a Brighton fan, I am so please for Waltz, He is very highly rated by the Seagulls and giving him experience out at other league clubs including Wigan is great for his development. Great to see a Cornish lad making it on the big stage, for all those out there dreaming of the same remember you don't make it without talent but also most importantly without hard work and dedication

Yep, his Dad, Tim Walton, played Senior One cricket for St.Austell, really good bloke. Always appreciated the work the ground-staff put into preparing a good wicket.

I thought he made a number of very good saves to keep Wigan in the game. That and some excellent defending.

Have great memories of watching Tim Walton playing cricket for Truro between mid 1980's and mid 1990's. Great bloke and batsman. Won the League and Vinter Cup while there.
