League Cup Semi Final day for me. Caught most of the first half at Pensilva (v St Merryn, first leg)  not much in it, Pens took the lead but the visitors ended the half well in control.

Nipped across to Lantoom to find Dobwalls 3-1 up against Godolphin (5-3 on aggregate to the visitors) much more entertaining game to be honest, a bit feisty as well. Dobwalls then went 5-1 up with about five minutes remaining (5 all on aggregate) and the G were digging deep to keep their final place as the final whistle went.

I was in the lovely new bar sipping a Doom when it became clear that nobody else was sure that if goals counted double -  if the rules had called for extra time then i think Dobwalls would have been through to the final.

Gorran - 2

Lanivet - 2

Gorran robbed! Clueless decisions. Two very questionable penalties for Lanivet, Gorran goal disallowed and a penalty turned down after the Lanivet linesman gave it!! The Lanivet equalising penalty being the last kick was the hardest thing to take. Followed by the Lanivet manager laughing at the end, "I think the scream made sure he gave it!"

joke!

N Petherwin 3 Pelynt 3. Welcome away draw for struggling Pelynt but again great team spirit at the fore. Could have grabbed all three points but for some very contentious decisions.

A difficult season nears a conclusion with Pelynt having fulfilled all fixtures which is a result given the perilous position at the start of the season. Several guys have stepped up and done themselves proud

Tintagel 2-5 Boscastle (H/T 0-2)

The feisty north coast derby got off to a blistering start with the visitors taking the lead inside the first 180 seconds. The home side had a goal disallowed after 8 minutes and with few clear cut chances, other than the Tintacs keeper making a great save, the visitors increased their lead after 24 minutes.

A third goal came on the hour following a goalkeeping error but Tintagel pulled one back with a bullet header after 67 minutes. Boscastle made it 1-4 after 76 minutes and with the final quarter of an hour getting niggly and a home player storming off in a strop, the score became 2-4 in the 90th minute and Boscastle scored a fifth almost immediately as the player rounded the keeper to tap into the empty net.

Referee Mark Hill did well to keep a lid on things. A few decisions were questioned by the visitors but he took it all in his stride and had a good game.

St Newlyn East 4 - 3 St Cleer

A scrappy 1st half finished with the visitors 1-0 up mainly due to their physical dominance. In the 2nd half a freak own goal levelled thing up when a St cleer player beat his own keeper with the outside of his foot! Great finish! The home side then improved with their footballers dominating play and St Cleer looking dangerous on the break. With scores level at 3-3 with time running out Ross London scored the winner from a defensive error to send a sizeable home crowd happy! Newlyn on a very good winning run...
