Dave Witts
St Minver awarded 3 points as Biscovey unfortunately couldn't raise a team. Weekend off again but at least weather is amazing ?⚽?

Guest
Gerrans & St Mawes United 8-1 St Columb Major (H/T 3-0) On a beautifully sunny day at Halwartha, St Columb had no answer to Gerrans who romped to an 8-1 win and it could have been more. A minute's silence was impeccably observed before the game for the London atrocities. The deadlock was broken after 8 minutes and the lead was doubled in the 36th minute. Two became three with a cracking finish after 41 minutes. Down the slope but against the wind, four minutes into the second half, a fine solo effort made it 4-0. It was 5-0 after 56 minutes before a low drive two minutes later reduced the deficit. It was 6-1 after 64 minutes and 7-1 two minutes later. By this time thoughts wandered into what the final score could be. As it was there was only one more goal to be scored and that came after 85 minutes. Referee Graham Rugg had a good game in the middle and the players let him do his job. There were two bookings for St Columb - one deserved, one maybe a little harsh but both were accepted without incident.
AJW
Grampound Reserves 4-0 North Petherwin Reserves (Duchy league Reserves Cup semi-Final, 1st leg) Grampound will take a commanding lead to the second leg of the Reserves Cup semi-final but it is certainly not all over as the visitors pegged Grampound back for long periods without creating that clear chance that they needed. Grampound will be pleased with their finishing - four excellent goals - but went to sleep for a long spell before scoring their 3rd and 4th goals. This was a good game played in fine spirits with hardly a bad foul anywhere and well-reffed by Rodney Campbell. The 2 sides meet again next week to conclude the tie. First time ive ever bee to St Mawes but what a great set up and great people they have around the club from the lady selling teas to there Manager Big Credit to them. They are certainly set up to push up the leagues. Some very talented players in there squad. Two lads up front best players on the pitch. They have everything. Cant argue with the result we had no heart for it and certainly didn't want it as much as them. Ben Ringrose ran the show in the middle keeping everything simple and making it all look effortless. Not the result we needed to stay in this league but we will go again and hope to make a better game of it at our place. Well done to the ref today let the game flow as much as possible and was consistent with his decisions. Good luck to Gerran and St Mawes for the rest of season. We enjoyed our trip down. Although soundly beaten i thought it was a decent advert for grassroots footy. Sunshine. Well refereed. Well mannered. Two teams trying to play good stuff. Efforts from underused fringe players. Friendly match jibing. Kids watching. Good supporters. Nice food at the Dolphin. What's not to love. ..apart from not scoring i guess. Mongoose
True enough. Just found out. One of our lads had only played 2 before March 15th rather than 3. Never mind. All enjoyed and Grampound more than deserve to go to the final without the long trip. They really are a decent set up. Hope they win that. ..last ever Reserve cup. cornish leg end
north petherwin were lucky to be in the semis after being beaten the week before by foxhole who got chucked out! Its a shame when there's a chance to win a trophy that Thea mistakes happen.
