Parkway very quiet. . . . . . . !?

Have spent most of the summer reading how they've matured and worked hard and how they won't make the same mistakes this season etc etc.

But today's result would suggest it's as you were last season.

Outstanding result Millbrook - well done Swiggsy.

Look forward to hearing from a few of the Parkway lads this evening.

Lanreath 3 Bere Alston United 2

Lost for the 3rd season in a row at Lanreath today and just like the previous two we went there severely understrength, started OK, but got progressively worse as the afternoon went on.

Kane Wilson scored a worldie on his debut after two minutes to give us the lead, but once Lanreath equalised midway through the half we lost our way, going in 2-1 down at the break.

We missed a hatful of chances either side of half time and their centre half should have walked, when, as last man, he clipped Chris Bray when he was clean through but escaped with a yellow.

Sloppy defending for all three of Lanreath's goals but take nothing away from them, they showed more desire once they got in front and although, on the balance of the play and chances missed, we were probably worthy of a point, a late tap in from Darren Phillips was too little to late and we came away with nothing.

Too many players under performing and not fit enough, but when they can't be arsed to train what more do they expect.

Same problems as always and judging by today's showing it's gonna be a long hard season ahead!!

Cheers Blakey

Rode our luck a little today, particularly late on in the 2nd half but we played well and were probably just about good enough for our lead at half time.

Credit to parkway they will probably feel they deserved at least a point after dominating most of the 2nd half and it took 2 fine one on ones saves from our keeper to hold on at the end.

Probably a good time to play them as been told they were a little understrength although we were missing a few aswell but I'm sure they'll become stronger over next couple of weeks.

A good start for us but means nothing if we don't follow it up with a couple more good results in the forthcoming games. It's a tough league and I'm sure anyone can beat anyone given the right circumstances!

Looking forward to the challenge!!

Swiggsy

Ponsonby, totally agree with your post, think "Blakey" should concentrate on his own team and league.

As for yesterdays game, great win for swiggsys side. The two parkway centre halfs couldnt handle the mobile threat from Evans and Rowe up top. Anything over the top asked questions of the pairing. Thought Daniels in the middle, usually a threat, was very poor, and constantly moaning at his team-mates.

Swiggsy, think you have been a little harsh on yourselves with your analysis, Parkway were only missing Andy Harris and a centre midfielder from their strongest eleven, so a very credible result. Yes, at times you rode your luck, however, all in all, you fully deserved the win.

As for Parkway, make no mistakes about it, they will be up there come the end, this was just a case of a bad day at the office!!!

Reading some of these posts is slightly amusing about Parkway! Bottom line is we didn't have our strongest 11 out but as its been pointed out we had a good team out and credit where credit is due...... Swiggsys boys were more up for it than we were for majority of the first half which is were the damage was done! Millbrook didn't stop working hard and their keeper did pull off a few very good saves........ Same old story goals win games not possession or the amount of shots u have! We will be there without a shadow of a doubt come the end of the season but not the start we wanted! Well done Swiggsys a great manager and great guy and wish him and Millbrook all thes best for the rest of the season. Just need to sort this hammy out now and hopefully get some goals in the next few fixtures.

Not the best of starts for Parkway Andy but its early days yet and its a long season, I take it you weren't playing! How was the holiday I assume you took my advice and didn't drink the water!! Ha! Ha! Our start didn't go as planned either, defensive mistakes cost us dear!

St. Blazey 1 St. Stephen 3 (1-2)

C. Coad (2)

J. Truscott 1

Don't know Blazey Scorer?

Firstly would like to thank Andrew Rundle for allowing the game to be played. There was talk of today's game being abandonded so the second team players were available for the first team who were apparently short! So thank you to St. Blazey for fulfilling the fixture, the pitch was as good as it always is despite the heavy rain during the week.

As for the game itself, we found ourselves 1-0 down within 2 minutes. St. Blazey started a lot better than us and thourghly deserved the lead. We managed to get back into the game and felt we did enough to deserve the win with the St. Blazey keeper definitely the livelier after the first 20 minutes. First game is always difficult to judge we were slow, off the pace and missing a few players to Cricket but got the 3 points we wanted. Preformances will hopefully come with a settled side and a few more games behind us. All the best to Andrew and St. Blazey will be a tough team to beat this year.

If they can't be assed to train then why do you pick em ?

Like I said at the beginning we had a few missing so had no choice really.

One of my players had a car accident on the way to Lanreath as well, so couldn't play either.....Thankfully the car came off worse and he is OK today!!

According to the Indie the Blazey scorer was Frank Mc Avoy!
