  9. Yeah it was the last couple of months. They played decent football on the ground, trying to pass through teams. The discipline was much improved. They held their own in every match the last couple of months of the season. They had already moved away from the players helping out. I, most likely like you have no idea if they broke the bank or not using these players. But if they did, someone was prepared to pay for the privilege. It’s now looking likely the focus will be more on local lads. That said, I have absolutely not the first clue what the plans are going forward.

  11. I think it's more like "possibly, but there again possibly not, best wait and see!"
  12. Was it really a Decent team ? Terrible discipline they never seem to learn from and A lot players coming and going or helping out at vast expense and maybe the club felt the need to move away from that reputation. Good luck too them.
  13. The rules for all county cups will be looked at over the next month or so. Mostly this will just be a tidying up and aligning exercise. When you get to the Step 4 and above clubs there is a complication and that is that any games they play in their County Senior Cup Competition must be played mid-week under lights on one nominated date per month. This season that rule came as close as it has ever has been to being extended to Steps 5 and 6 and I would fully expect it to do so within the next 5 years. It's fantastic that we have clubs achieving the levels that they are now but it will take some serious thought to work out a format to include those clubs. At what round would they enter? Who else would enter the competition? What happens if a game gets rained off on the nominated date? That loses a month straight away. What happens when the mid-week rule extends to the rest of the NLS? And so it goes on. There are many different ways of doing it around the country but a lot of senior competitions are small with only the top dozen or so clubs entering. Some counties even offer the option to opt out for a fee. In most it's not the big thing it is down here. Will it change for next season? Probably not. Season after? Who knows. Everything is under continual review but for all we can chat about it on here I am not aware of any club submitting a change proposal into the office.
  14. Ben Potter has left Bude town along with the Chairwoman Emma Down. Bens twitter post states their ambitions no longer match, while Budes facebook post suggests a focus on local talent. Will be interesting to see what’s next for Bude. Did they go all out last season to be part of the restructure only for that to fail to materialise? Are they hoping to stabilise at SWPL level with local talent. watch this space. I like Ben, he was a very decent bloke who would alway acknowledge you. He was building a decent team towards the end of the season. I wish him all the best in his next job.

  16. Only odd thing is you calling it odd! He's only started 5 times for the first team and played 11 altogether. Navy lad, hence lack of availability, and offered to play as we were short. Quite reasonable to me! See you on Saturday - make sure the pitch is marked😀
  17. Please see Dave Deacon post on a separate thread for the pitch 🙏
  18. Thanks Dave it wouldn't let me post for some reason.
  19. St Dennis looking to play tomorrow’s game against Bodmin on home turf! Photos suggests no problem - well done to all involved in working on it. 👍
