Never-Pay-Never
If you mean the statement released by Helical Retail today then all I can read into that is: They signed up their first retailer. They need a lot more retailers to follow suite quickly. They still seem quite keen to plonk TCFC in the S4C. The boulders are still outside Silver Bow and reading in between the lines of that statement, that’s where they will remain for a long time yet and maybe indefinitely. No apologies yet I’m afraid. Dave Deacon
The content of the City Alert sent out by Truro City FC is as as follows:- It's game on at Treyew Road and Silverbow! Helical Retail is delighted to announce that it has signed Wren Kitchens fora 15,000 sq ft unit at its Truro City Shopping Park at Treyew Rd, Truro.WREN is a national retailer specialising in kitchens and relatedaccessories, with 55 stores across the country. For some time, the companyhas been looking to locate a store that will cover Cornwall, in order tocomplete its expansion plans across the South West.Aidan Farrell, Property Director for Wren, said, “The Business has advancedplans to acquire units in Exeter and Plymouth. The new store for Trurorepresents a further positive step for our expanding store network. “Truro City Shopping Park will be a great location where we can cover theTruro, Falmouth and wider Cornwall markets. Its location will be easilyaccessible to the large number of commuters as well as Truro City Centreshoppers.“We will be employing 30 local people to work at the new store includingmanagers, designers and kitchen surveyors. There will be 50 kitchen displaysembracing modern through to traditional designs, supported by a state of theart design centre.”Peter Masters of Truro City Football Club said, “We have been lookingforward to seeing this deal announced as it demonstrates Helical Retail’scommitment to the project and underwrites the fact that this development cannow move forward.”Philip King, Development Manager for Helical Retail, said, “This is a majorcoup for Truro and shows confidence in our plans for Treyew Rd. We said wewould bring new retailers into Truro who are not already here and we aredelivering on that promise. WREN’s move will endorse the park and otherfurniture retailers will follow. “Alongside this good news, I would also like to take this opportunity to putthe record straight about the Stadium for Cornwall (S4C). We have alwayssupported this project and will continue to do so. Currently our plans areto relocate Truro City Football Club to Silver Bow. However, should theparties to the S4C wish to discuss alternative provision for the S4C thatwould include both Truro City Football Club and the Cornish Pirates, we arehappy to discuss. However, we are not suggesting a joint venture with INOXor Henry Boot.”

Goldeneye
A shared stadium would never work and especially as neither the Pirates or Truro City want it.

TheolderIgetthebetterIwas
One swallow does not a summer make. I have no doubt following that statement that Helicals preferred option is a groundshare. Whether both parties want that is irrelevant, it will boil down to as needs be when finalised. I would love to see TCFC with a new stadium that THEY own, with entry fees that I would be prepared to pay. We'll see.

Apologies accepted. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Truro Postie, I am off to the Algarve for a week, will there be a Truro City Football Club when I return? Will you be successful taking over Torquay United? Will Truro City be owned by one of the family? I note a Torquay player is returning from a long term injury but they cannot afford to pay him and he is coming to Truro City until they can assess his worth and there is enough money in the pot. Does all this make Truro City Football Club the bankers for Torquay United Football Club. ONLY ASKING WHAT OTHERS ARE THINKING.
