  1. Wadebridge pitch is like,a farmyard probably the worst pitch in the league how can they justify playing a semi final there? The best surface in the league has to be Camelford still looking immaculate even at this stage of the season, unfortunately limited parking and lack of a proper clubhouse work against them when the big comes around.
  2. Camelford had a good win against Newton Abbot Spurs who are 4th in the East division. Played so well and were 3 up at half time game over. Reg had to stand by the entrance yesterday after getting three yellows in the competion, seems a strange school type punishment, I would think not being in the dugout would suffice.
  3. B ude have had 3 sent off tonight against Camelford and are losing 2:1
  4. All I'm saying is test yourself at the highest level you can instead of messing around in the same league year in year out. Purely my opinion, Nobody travels on a horse and cart anymore. Cornish ladies do it bowls teams do it Cornwall men's dart team travel all over the country and are away Saturday and Sunday,it's called commitment not that difficult really.
  5. Every amateur has a family and a career outside of the sport they play so surely it must be lack of ambition. Still prepared to take the Cornish £ Why any club pay in this league baffles me the standard is appalling. If you want to play for fun play Sunday mornings.
  6. If St Austell win promotion where will the likes of Brokenshire Eddy and Slateford go? Or are they too old to worry about it? Good players that under achieved do to lack of ambition presumably
  7. The thing is a ref can't make a decision on the say so of a club official. The only decision a club official can make is weather the ball is in or out of play,so causes more problems than it solves. I was a level 4 ref for lots of years and found it very difficult to adjust from qualified officials to club officials.
  8. I was disappointed with Bude, didn't offer much all game, they have a big centre forward that didn't look good enough at this level, he missed his only chance from a couple of yards out, missed the target with the goal gaping. It wasn't quite a 1-0 whipping but not far from it Camels never looked like losing and were always in control. Had a settled side in the last few games, makes all the difference.
  9. Of coarse it's not, in 40 years of being involved in football I have have never heard any ref threaten any players or fans but with some of the abuse they take I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. An official is only human with the same problems as everyone else in life, if he or hers partner said I dont love you anymore and won't be here when you come home maybe when some upstart who's having a bad game starts being abusive it could tip you over the edge. What I'm saying is influences off the field sometimes affects your performance on the field. What you see is not always the full story.
  10. They are crying out for referees so if you think you are better than what you see stop criticising and give it a go, if you do I guarantee you will look at things differently. I refereed well over 100 south western league matches and officiated in just as many western league matches and and some stage I was useless in all of them according to the paying public. Refereeing is not as easy as you think so please don't criticise when not qualified to do so.
  11. I watched Callington and Camelford last week and heard the C word used at least 5 times all from the mouth of the Callington manager, absolute disgrace, he also spent 80% of the match on the pitch as there doesn't seem to be any technical area, the assistant ref must have been a family member or a friend as he did not take any action whatsoever, will never go to that ground again absolutely shameful.
  12. Fair report Dave, I watch Camels most weeks and I didn't recognize many of the players either. Only 4 started from the team that beat St Blazey last day of last season. The boys that did play did ok having not played together even in pre season I think Reg got his work cut out this season unless he can make some quality signings, going to have sterner tests than Mullion this season.
