Mike Odgers
Buckfastleigh have submiited their intent to with draw from the SWPL Div1 East. at the end of the season. It appears the club wouldn't meet the ground criteria in time and will leave before being expelled. This leaves the bottom two Liverton United and Ottery St.Mary free from relegation. Home Waters
<_< Mike - I think you will find that it is nothing to do with ground criterea. As this is not applicable to that Division or indeed any other as extensions for level 6 are now to 2010 - I think :(
Guest Postie Pidge
Because of their intended withdrawal, the work they had to do will not now need doing.

Jamo
Mike i dont know if you know this but i will ask anyway! With the statement that Buckfastleigh have announced they are withdrawing at the end of the season, it states that it means the bottom 2 teams in the league are now free from relegation, does this also mean then in the Peninsula West League that the bottom teams are free from relegation as well due to Goonhaverns withdrawel at the beginning of this sason? i think Goonhavern missed any kind of deadlines by withdrawing so late pre season so surely it must effect the outcome in this seasons league? Mike Odgers
Confirmed in todays Independent that no relegation from either SWPL Div1 East or West. 17 clubs in West 1 and the withdrawal of Buckfasleigh the East will also have 17 -so I guess they will be strengthened to 18 for the start of 2009/10. I anticipate Perranporth to be in the SWPL (W) next season.
Guest st george9
guess a few teams can relax now then..but apart from some pride, not alot left for the teams at the bottom to worry about
John The Baptist
Nobody wants to finish bottom of the league so i'm sure even the bottom clubs will be giving everything they have got til the end of the season.
cornishteddyboy
There's still the £2 per goal scored. A big incentive that. :P
