Mike Odgers
Should be good gates for the midweek games Hayle v Penzance 19/8 and Friday night 'footy' at Penlee Park v Mousehole 22/8. Another game I have pencilled in my diary is the Bank holiday 25/8 Penryn v Porthleven. These fixtures are ideal for me to visit some of the SWPL West grounds. Paul
Falmouth v St Blazey on boxing day could be a real crowd puller. I look foward to that one. What kinf of crowd might you expect for that one Mike??
Mike Odgers
Paul- We will have to wait and see if the two clubs are fixtured for Boxing Day Home or Away but it will be an overdue bonus for the Bickland coffers. Sadly gates have plummeted from the good old days when a Christmas 'derby' with Truro would be up around 700 usually drawing out the once a season follower. like St. Blazey, last seasons attendances at Falmouth fell well below expectations and depending on the quality of the squad and team success for 08/09 I am pessimistic of an upturn in gate increase. But if these two 'fallen giants' can generate that old rivalry maybe the record league attendance may be in jeopardy (343 St.Blazey v Bodmin). I can promote the game and stir things up a bit on the forum Any way good luck next season and will see you on the SWPL circuit before long Paul. Still can't get todays tragedy of Phil Smith out of my head.
Paul
No, its a awful, you just cant imagine how his faily and friends must feel. This after the incident with Luke Mccormick. No been a good week has it. Certainly overshadows the football. As for the boxing day clash, it should be a cracking game. Hopefully, there will be plenty on that one. Time will tell. Heres to good health for everyone.
