The Torpoint Massive Posted March 21 Report Share Posted March 21 Report – Wednesday 20th March Oldland Abbotonians 0-3 Torpoint Athletic Toolstation Western League, Premier Division By Robbie Morris at The Aitchison Playing Field Torpoint Athletic brought home the three points from Bristol on Wednesday night in their longest away trip of the season with all the three goals scored in the second half. The match was only three minutes old when Ryan Richards breaks clear and was brought down in the area by the home keeper. Richards sent his spot kick just wide of the left post. On the 20th minute James Rowe for the visitors breaks clear and sees his effort from the edge of the area well saved by Olly Phillips the home keeper. In the final 15 minutes of the half, the hosts come more into the game with chances from Will Cains and Harrison Kyte, but visiting keeper Ryan Rickard pulls off a couple of fine saves to keep the hosts at bay. The second half was only four minutes old when Richards put the visitors in front as good play by the midfield finds him breaking clear to fire home. On the 80th minute, both sides find themselves down to ten men when Jai Macleod is sent off for Oldlands when he puts in a reckless challenge on Isaac McCue. Elliot Crawford is sent off for the visitors for allegedly raising his hands against Macleod in the mêlée afterwards. Two minutes later, the visitors double their lead when Richards puts in James Rowe to fire home and four minutes into stoppage time, Torpoint extend their lead further, when Ryan Richards low effort from 18 yards bounces off the onrushing keeper to drop into the back of the net for his brace.
