Used to get a tenner but now we dont as it's going towards the dinner and dance do I'd pay to play, Shouldn't get paid for something you do as a hobby, money ruins football, average players get up thier own back sides because average teams pay stupid sums.... I always end up out of pocket about a £10 due to fines and beer!!! Did You mean stroz, Porthleven RESERVES dont pay? BUT IF CERTAIN CLUBS ARE PREPARED TO DO IT THEN ITS DOWN TO THEM. How many players do you rekon pay tax on the money they get from the club? it all goes down as travel expenses, or whatever else pops into the treasurer's head when he's writing up the wage slips! Unless you get a player who is working along side the CFA goes into a club and asks for money, then gets paid and reports back to the league. I dont believe there is a way you can police it. St.Justice Posted April 11, 2008 Report Share Posted April 11, 2008 I have watched Penzance reserves a few times this year and I dont think the players should have the nerve to take any money. They are a terrible TEAM and thats not me slating any players in particular as I think that they have got a few talented youngsters. It sends out the wrong signals about the club as I am pretty sure that Penzance are going to finish bottom of the combo. As for shoving it up my **** no thanks. I didn't say I wanted to see PZ down at the bottom, just that as you have only got two away games left and everyone around you has a few games in hand I think you will be bottom. Woodpecker- as for you saying im a junior league player?? you obviously dont know me very well havnt played junior footy for 2 1/2 years-actually i played 1 game (when newquay didnt have a game) for portreath this season. hope that has cleared things up!! --by the way just to clear another thing up the players that get paid £5 at Pz are the ones that drive!!!! if you dont drive you dont get any money! i think about 6 of us have to drive. Don't tell them your secrets like fuel payments, win bonuses, goal bonuses, etc. You have been a valuable member of the Pz Combo squad since you joined. After watching the combo team for 14 years I know how hard it has been this season for everyone and I suffer as much as the players. I have seen good and bad times and I can tell this lot that you are not the worse team I've seen. Once the team went 18 games without a win. We finished 2nd bottom. Kevin Swain was the manager at the time if people like Woodpecker can remember him or was he at primary school then. Guest Ronin Posted April 13, 2008 Report Share Posted April 13, 2008 I don't see why players have to be paid at all Managers, groundsmen, kits washers, first aiders, linos and all the other people who make the game possible don't get paid so why just the players? Like St Justice says the supporters drive miles to watch a game and pay to get in but you don't hear them complaining. Our game is being spoilt at the highest level by paid prima donnas and we're doing the same thing at our level now. I know Helston Patriot was joking when he said he wouldn't lace his boots for less than £40 a game but how many of our Combo & SWPL players do actually think that way - I know a couple! How long will it be before we start paying parents "petrol money" for youth players? Guest messi Posted April 13, 2008 Report Share Posted April 13, 2008 sorry mate, forgt about dan cause he hasnt played! he is a quality player but he is not payed at all by the club, its done via these old boys who are mullion through and through, so i don't know if that counts as a team that pays or not, but as long as the money isnt coming out of the club then its ok, think money might of swayed dan but im sure if u ask him he'll tell you much he loves the crack and bant at mullion i should know im one of his best mates!! i know payin and stuff seems odd at this level but being honest for a club like ours to have someone of dans quality upfront i cant complain!!
