Norman Burnett

Recommended Posts

Only a few days into the New Year and sadly there has been another "passing" of one of the Cornish Football Family. Norman Burnett sadly passed away peacefully earlier today having spent several weeks in a Falmouth nursing home, where he had been since being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. In the late 1970's and for several years after that Norman was a referee, refereeing in the old Falmouth/Helston League whilst being a member of The Falmouth/Helston Referees' Society. As a member of the Society he held the posts of both Treasurer and Secretary. Once he stopped refereeing he became an excellent club administrator and could usually be found associated with clubs or teams based @ the Draceana Centre in Falmouth. Thoughts are with his wife Jane and his family.

Sad to hear this news .

We worked closely together on the Committees of the West Cornwall Sunday League and Cornwall women’s League in the 90s into mid 2000s and spent a lot of time in each others houses talking league matters and football in general .

Not seen a lot of him over last few years but knew he wasn’t in best of health but surprised at todays news

RIP Norm
