Div 2

Penzance Reserves 5-2 Falmouth United

Att - 52

So good to play a home league game, our first since 2nd September. Pz dominate first half gong in 3-0 to the good.

Second have, Falmouth had much of the possession with few chances. Pz get a quick-fire double to make it 5-0 before our visitors reply, then reply again and even with a three goal advantage you get the murmurings of a squeaky bum time as scores change so quick.

Pz waste a bit of time and bag the three points. Both keepers played well and thanks go to today's referee Ciaran Nash, with us old Pz Ultra Pensioners saying he had a damm good game.

Div 2

Stithians 0-1 Illogan

Illogan started the brighter of the two sides and nearly broke the deadlock in the 15th minute with the right winger hitting the post and the follow up put over.  Both teams got into the final third without creating to much we had a decent chance when the keeper passed straight to kRyan Kempthorne but was unable to finish it..  Then Illogan broke the deadlock when Stithians switched off from a throw in and Illogans Matty Roberts pounced when is strike nestled in bottom corner. 0-1 Ht

Second half Illogan had a good chance to extend there lead but Bray saved from close range.  Stithians kept pushing for an equaliser but we're restricted to a couple long shots and a couple of free kicks.  Both teams kept possession well and it was end to end for the last twenty minutes Stithians kept pushing but nothing really fell our way Bale put a free kick from Jack Mitchell wide.  Calloway and Thomas were heading and defending there box well. Illogan looked dangerous on the break with Smeeth up top bringing players into the attack. Stithians almost equalised with 5 minutes to go out the ball didn't drop for Bale in the box and fell into keepers hands. Action until the end when Bray saved late on onto the cross bar and the follow up saved which let us have one more launch at he Illogan defence but they held firm to take all 3 points

Good luck to Illogan for rest of season. Decent game with both teams missing players.

For us a draw would have been fair result but onto next week.

Well reffed by Ken Keemer
