Good luck to all the cornish teams, there are some tough matches against higher league teams with probably St Austell having the biggest task against AFC Bournemouth who have played 8 and won 8 with a G.D. of 36 and top their National league.
Swindon who are third the same National league topped by Bournemouth, are also going to offer stiff opposition to Liskeard
Helstons visit to AEK BOCO will see them pitched against a team who are 2nd in the Northern section of The South West Regional League.
Sticker host Frampton who play in the same league as St Austell but after having played 4 x games have yet to register a win.
This is what any cup game is all about, an opportunity to change the result that everyone expects.
Apart from the potential glory of winning, the prizemoney available will always be a substantial bonus.
Being in the North of the county makes any journey a reasonable choice, so a trip to Bristol to see Helston may be on the cards or maybe a quick jaunt down to Sticker depending on the weather.

A genuine request to Thecupfootballblogger to report on one of the ladies cup matches.

We may be wrong but it appears that you have no particular team that you support, but even if you have we feel that we can rely on an unbiased and informative report of a game and you don't suffer from tunnel vision !
Give it a go, the ladies game will benefit from the publicity.

  • Gary Hocking changed the title to RESULTS SUNDAY 22ND OCTOBER

We had the choice to go to either Sticker v Frampton or AEK v Helston and ended up watching Sticker at Burngullow Park en route to Penzance.
Although from a division which is we believe two leagues above the home sides league play was quite even throughout and a win for either team was always on the cards.
Sticker scored in the first few minutes and were value for their lead until Frampton put a different picture on the game after taking a 2-1 lead.
The home side to their credit didn't let ther heads drop and fought back to create a two all draw and then a 3-2 lead with ten minutes to go, and held on to the lead until the final whistle and entry in to the first round proper.
Lets hope the two cornish clubs are not drawn against each other as Helston are the only other cornish club to progress in the Vitality Cup.
One thing that we did find rather dissappointing, was the number of supporters watching the game which after all was a ticket in to the first round proper of a national cup competition, but no doubt both sides will appreciate the prize money paid to their respective clubs.
Congratulations also to Helston who have helped keep the cornish flag flying.

Biscovey 1 Redruth 1 (3-3 AET)

Reds won 3-2 on penalties.

Top 2 in div 2 going at it...and what a battle it was! 1-1 at half-time. Missed pen from Reds on 80 mins sent the tie into ET.

Biscovey went 3-1 ahead in the first half, but Redruth responded to send the tie to penalties after goals in the 110th and 118th minutes.

Superstar Lee 'Gloves' Willoughby saved 3 pens and scored her effort to send Redruth into the next round.

Super advert for ladies football today; both teams played brilliant football with the ball on the deck. An excellent competitive attitude from both sides and great to have a laugh in the pub after!

Thanks to Biscovey for their welcome and hospitality. Great things happening over there and we look forward to our league games

Up the reds!

Frampton play in the South West Regional Women’s Football League Premier Division, one step above Sticker in the Western Division.

I believe it was also free admission so very good value entertainment.

Thank you for the messages regarding the Biscovey vs Redruth result (now corrected above). This is the 3rd time in 4 weeks that I’ve recorded a result as shown on Full-Time only for the result on Full-Time to subsequently be amended. This only happened twice in total in the previous two seasons. If anyone can explain why this is now happening virtually weekly please share. If it continues the only remedy will be to wait until much later in the evening to report the results which will be a pity as I’m sure most people are looking for them as soon as possible after the final whistle.

Thanks WeTwo. I have blogged on women's games in the past. Currently, I am an ex-blogger but might give it another go in the future. Keep enjoying your football. Cheers.

Fulltime automatically updates from the team coach/secretary/manager’s response to an automated FA text.  Presumably on both occasions a text has been sent in with the scoreline the wrong way round.  It’ll then be overridden by the opposition when they send in their text.   So basically there are coaches who don’t know what they’re doing.

Thank you.

Although that describes well the two incidents in the previous two seasons, this season the results shown at around 5:00-5:30 (which is when I aim to post the results) have been completely wrong rather than just reversed.

It also wouldn’t explain why the error frequency has jumped from once per season to three times in a month. Something else - something additional - must also be going wrong.

Our game stated 1-0 to Biscovey on full-time...but the game was still ongoing and neither manager submitted the result until we got back to the pub!

I can only guess a coach/manager is trying to submit ‘live’ data whilst stood pitchside, via the Matchday App.  The app in theory allows live scores etc.

But as football administrators all know, Matchday is cr@p.
