Big couple of league games for Parkway in the next 5 days. Away to Harrow tomorrow, then home to Dorchester on Tuesday night. 6 points should be achievable against 2 sides that will probably be down towards the wrong end of the table at the season's end, they'll be needed if Parkway want to kick start their league season and get the play off aspirations going again.

Play off aspirations? Surely to God survival has to be the aim after the “transfer window” and start to the season (although it is still early I know)

God loves an optimist.. 🙂

Seriously though, looks like 6 very winnable points over the next few days, which would push Parkway up towards mid table at this early stage. Couple of defeats though could make things a bit interesting around Bolitho.

Harrow 2 Parkway 1

Jack Crago scores early in the first half, but a couple of late goals from Harrow gives them the points. Not too much else to say really.

That a terrible result in all honesty away form very poor and some odd subs made.
still very concerned where goals are coming from if crago   does not  score.

Maybe for the first time Hobbs under pressure at PPFC? Midweek could be a critical game. Will Parkway hold their nerve?

Lee Hobbs spoke in the Herald yesterday about the need for a top class striker, the struggle to find one and having to widen his search area potentially to loanees from the Bristol clubs.

I'm not sure if having Ben Seymour or Tyler Harvey (for arguments sake) in the side yesterday would have made much difference. They may well have taken one of the first half chances, but in the second half it was worrying how little Parkway created. Prior to Mikey Williams shooting at the keeper after he was released from the back three and sent forward when the game was being chased in the frenetic ending, I can only remember one other clear opportunity (Jack Crago placing his shot wide).

Surely the Dorchester game is a must win one now? Is Lee Hobbs the ‘problem’ at Parkway right now? Or is it the players?

Perhaps it is just a question of belief, form and confidence. Good players just not doing their jobs at key moments (not just defenders).Parkway were in control in the first half and should have had at least another goal against a pretty poor Harrow side. Don't know what happened second half, they just seemed to drop deeper and deeper with Jack Crago (on his own upfront after Reece Thomson was taken off) reduced to being a very willing horse chasing down long balls out behind him. This invited Harrow on to them, and the inevitable happened (there had been a couple of close calls before they got the equaliser). Looking back, perhaps losing Callum Hall to a head injury just after HT was the turning point. He is a very under rated player as the midfield "buzzer", breaking up play, getting about the opposition  and driving forward. Lifts other players in the way Lee Doel used to years ago.

Looking through that side yesterday, there is a lot of quality on paper, and they shouldn't be in this league position. Harrow certainly celebrated like they had won a trophy at the final whistle.

Mousehole 3-0 Tavistock, FA Trophy 2nd Qualifying Round
Hayden Turner 45 (pen), Mark Goldsworthy 51, Tim Nixon 81

A poor first half with neither team impressing. Hayden Turner scored from a penalty with virtually the last kick of the half and, frankly, I think a penalty was the only way either team was going to get a goal in the first 45.

An early goal in the second half changed the game. Jack Bray-Evans beat his man on the edge of the box, drew the keeper then unselfishly passed to his left for Mark Goldsworthy to tap in the easiest goal he’ll score this season. From then on we seemed to remember how to play football and never looked like giving up the lead.

With 10 minutes to go Hayden Turner on the left wing sprinted past the Tavistock right back and crossed to Tim Nixon who calmly side-footed past the keeper. And that was that, both teams appearing to settle for a 3-0 scoreline.

Onwards to the 3rd Qualifying Round with the draw to be made lunchtime tomorrow.
