It was obviously a top table last night of many years football service by all of the outgoing Trelawny League officers, but I must pick out one for a very special mention.

Chris Coombes announced his complete retirement from local football duties.

41 years he’s been involved in administrative posts, also before and during that time reffing and I fondly remember his looking after the Carn Brea five a side Tuesday and Thursday leagues when at their peak were the best quality indoor football you would see anywhere in the county.

Enjoy your retirement Chris and many many thanks for all you’ve done for the local game.
