(Tonight.Wed.11th,Aug) SWPL (W) Falmouth Town v Penzance 7-30pm KO

Recommended Posts

Profligate is the word to describe Falmouth's finishing tonight.

The first half an hour, Town could have scored 6 or 7 but instead managed 3 without reply. However, Penzance started brightly and created a few chances of their own in this period. But for some excellent last gasp defending from the evergreen Toby Clarke they would have got at least one. Good pace down both wings was troubling the Town defence.

Once Town got their three, they seemed to lose their intensity.  A large score looked on the cards but it didn't happen. They sometimes struggle to score lots more goals once they have a comfortable lead.

All that being said, it was an impressive first half display and that's 2 from 2 so far and no goals conceded.

Strong bench tonight with 5 players who would walk in to most if not all of the first teams in this league. A first outing of the season for Ollie Walker as well. At times he was unplayable with his speed and control. Really exciting to watch.

Penzance could surprise a few in this league if they can maintain the style of football they played in the first 30 minutes, although some of them did look like they ran out of steam a bit late on.

Callington away for TOWN on Saturday. Think they will need their shooting boots on for that one!
