Jeff Stelling
Do we have any idea what the league will be called, or who will sponser it? Also are they going to keep the cups from Fal/Hel and Mining and dish them out to each division or dispand the current cups and create new ones? Maybe it's a bit early for the answers of these questions but it should be interesting. Lots to play for!!

I have heard that the cups will remain and that the Percy Stephens Cup will become the entire league cup (unofficial Junior Cup West!!!!) & the Dunn Cup will become the cup only the premier league teams participate for
Martin Eddy
not much incentive to win division 2 or 3 of both leagues as you only have to finish in top 5

Would of been a shame to of seen the back of some of the cups, with the history they have attached to them. not much incentive to win division 2 or 3 of both leagues as you only have to finish in top 5 There is the incentive of becoming the last ever team to win that division I suppose? Martin Eddy
yes i said that at the agm but you would have thought there was an incentive to move up a league by winning????
cornishteddyboy
I suppose with the two leagues joining, then two teams could be promoted from the new league into the combo. More to fight for. Will the Divisions be 2 up, 2 down leaving 10 non movers?
Shifty
Is it confirmed which positioned teams will make up the new league. By this setup you can win division 2 and end up in the same division as those relegated from Div 1, and below the third bottom team in Div 1 - basically no promotion? The transition year from the 2010/2011 season will obviously be problematic as the leagues align but the reason that sides could be feeling hard done by is the fact the leagues are all being reduced by 2 down to 14 teams per league. Once the alignment is complete I can see the leagues being very competitive.
Hutchspur
I agree, there will definately be teething problems in the first season but this merger is long overdue and will lead to a very competitve league structure.
