Totally agree. Best performance of the season and some of the football was great to watch. Even though we were 3-0 up no one stopped playing and on another day it could have been a huge win. The result was great but the way we won must have pleased Glynn and Laffs.

I believe Falmouth will play their replay on wednesday night so our trip to Falmouth will have to wait. With two more home games to come on the next couple of saturdays, we have the chance to get things right before our F.A vase trip to Chard.

Well done St Blazey. :yahoo:

What a strange game football is!!

Went to see St Blazey at Tavi just a few weeks ago. Tavi won 2-1 that night but with some decent finishing, it could have been 4 or 5.

Last week Buckland were thumped 3-0 at Pz.

This week the Bucks thump Tavi 5-1 and Blazey thump Parkway.

The title really is there for anyone. Its gona be much closer than last season.

Dobwalls 2 Foxhole 0

Saturday 29th August 2009

Since a famous victory at Porthleven on March 17th, Foxhole have now gone thirteen games without winning, gaining only four points from a possible 39, and never looked capable of ending this miserable run in this poor advert for Peninsula League football at windswept Lantoom Park. The dubious tactic of thumping high balls up to an out of touch Griffin proved meat and drink for Dillon and Davey, as the lack of creativity or energy throughout the side becomes more conspicuous by the week. Although Pinhammer almost netted Nicholls' low cross on seven minutes, Castle's clean sheet was never seriously to be threatened again as the altogether livelier Dobwalls outfit adapted better to the conditions and opened the scoring on 27 when Bartlett was allowed to turn in the box before firing low into the corner. Martin was only denied an immediate second by the legs of Ryan Holland, who was soon grateful to see Lindsay's corner cannon off the far post.

The hobbling Rowe did not reappear after the break, but the switch to 4-4-2 prompted by the introduction of Grose did not, alas, herald any tangible improvement, although hopes were briefly raised when one of a succession of corners struck a post before being cleared. However, McKellar was required to head Caers' effort off the line and Holland smartly saved from Dunn, so it was no surprise when Caers latched on to Lindsay's pass to add the second with twenty-five minutes remaining. As the gale increased, the standard of football dropped still further, but Dobwalls were ultimately able to comfortably contain the predictable visiting attacks and a late revival was never likely. For the record, Carpenter was booked for a foul on Martin, and Griffin for kicking the ball away, while Mr Johns also cautioned Souness for a late challenge on Kenny, and Bartlett for dissent.

Foxhole (4-3-3): Ryan Holland; Daniel Meens, Dexter Lawrence, Adam Holland, Tony McKellar (sub. Richard Faircloth); Nick Carpenter, Scott Ansell, Mark Rowe (sub. Chris Grose); Ross Pinhammer, Liam Nicholls (sub. Sam Kenny), Richard Griffin.

Dobwalls (4-4-2): Jamie Castle; Nick Souness, Joe Smith, Andrew Davey, Jeff Dillon; Matt Lindsay, Jack Bartlett (sub. Barry Crane), Alex Martin, Spencer Wilson (sub. Jake Benney); Stewart Dunn (sub. Adrian Walton), Lee Caers.

Referee: Mr Allen Johns (Plympton).

I went along to see Perranporth v Wendron today expecting it to be lambs to the slaughter but it just didnt happen like that. Yes there was a gulf in class between the two teams but a goal with virtually the last kick of the first half was all that Perran had to show for it.

Perran scored again shortly after halftime and I kind of expected the floodgates to open, but if anything Wendron upped their game, dug deeper and managed to get a few shots off themselves with one great chance following a corner.

Overall, on another day Perran could have bagged a hatful and its all about getting the points on the board, but Wendron will surely be able to take some heart from this result.

Has anyone got any reports on this game it looked like millbrook were going well in the league so i guess a good performance from hayle.Well done on a good 3pts lets keep it going.

Hayle didnt play exceptionally well, more the case of Millbrook played exceptionally poor! they even helped Hayle out by offering them a few one on ones playing in Hayle themselves. Millbrook have two weeks off with their next game on the 12th against Turo...expect the team to put alot of wrongs right!

Congratulations wendron! yes a loss is a loss whatever way you look at it however wendron will certainly take more from the game than perranporth, not being able to get to the game my sibling was therem apparently soaking up the rays on the bank! From chatting too him wendron put in a performance not seen at all this season, Hilliard the goal keeper making some stunning saves, mainly from Davies. The perran's strikers making good movement, with Guy Mills providing a solid performance at the back against some very good strikers, including Trevaskis sat on the bench, very established player. Josh Mcdonald also playing well, Tresidder, dealing with none other than Harrington and Gosling played one of the best performances of the season, with the exeption of harrington playing "rediculous passes" i have it Tresidder held more than his own, including peter thorne saying to one of the suppoerters "some f******* passing".

In his (and her) opinion man of the match should of gone to Hilliard, Mills or Tresidder.. They were the only names truly mentioned to myself. Sorry i couldn't make it! Well done Perran, a very strong side. Maybe people will hold Wendron in higher esteem now.

my M.O.M yesterday was luke hilliard in goal for us, some excellent saves for the cameras and several awesome saves at the feet of the perran forwards.

great team performance from us and we were unlucky to concede the goals when we did, the first in the 4th minute of a supposed 2minutes of first half injury time. the second just after the break, which i believe could have been offside.

perranporth bombarded us, but we put in a great team performance and were unlucky not to score ourselves.

roll on port tommorow

best of luck to perranporth for the rest of the season.

They didn't truely dominate through their own brilliance though is the point i was making, it was more the fact that Millbrook were poor.

At the end of the day Hayle still get 3pts and there will be plenty more of them

In regards to the millbrook v Hayle game..... although the brook rarely troubled the hayle goal because of a general poor performance, any team with height and a bit more dominance in the air would trouble the hayle defence as they cannot deal with crosses from the games i have seen them play. the fact that they had conceded 7 in 3 games before saturday says it all.

opinions vary!

Fact of the matter is, Hayle are below Millbrook, and despite scoring 3 against millbrook, hayle have a far worse Goals against record then millbrook's
