  1. Foxhole AFC weekly training is now on the 3G pitch at Brannel School in St Stephen, from 6pm - 7pm on Thursdays. Potential new players are also welcome to attend. If interested, please contact me on 07881738008 or darinmorse@msn.com; first team manager Anton Lake at antonlake@hotmail.co.uk; secretary Dave Bunt on 07980520046; or twitter @foxholestars Saturday 31st October 2020 St Cleer v Foxhole (2.30pm)
  2. I wonder how much the likes of Mike Sampson was paid by the Independent for spending several hours every Saturday ringing every home team's press contact / manager and then writing up a report on each game by an early evening deadline? If it was peanuts (like I expect it was), I'm not surprised if nobody now wants to do it.
  3. Saturday 24th October 2020 Foxhole 2 (Rundle 64, Papaioannou 80) St Dominick 2 (Ryall 61, Rogers 87) Foxhole came within three minutes of their first win of the season only for Rogers to bundle home a loose ball following a scramble in the six yard box. It was tough on the home side who had again produced a sensationally gritty display to frustrate their fancied opponents, particularly when facing a typical Goverseth gale in the first half. Keeping their shape impressively, the Foxes restricted St Dominick to shots from distance until Ryall cut in from the left to blast the ball past
  4. I reckon that, since the start of last season, Foxhole have played 27 League and cup games. Due to bad weather, lockdown, away cup draws and quirks of the fixtures, incredibly, of the 27, only 8 have been at home. (In no way is this meant as criticism of the fixture secretary who does a great job and whose task is unenviable).
  5. Saturday 17th October 2020 Mount Gould 5 (Moore 18, 53, 75, Brook 39, Alexander 56) Foxhole 0 Despite another superb battling performance depleted Foxhole slumped to the bottom of the league, although they will take some comfort in the knowledge they have now already played four of the top five away from home. With May still feeling the effects of last week’s knock, Baker became our seventh different ‘keeper this season, and he enjoyed a fine debut with a string of great saves and some impressive kicking. However, being also without Oulton, Austin, Whetter, Rundle, White and Olver, i

  7. Condolences from Foxhole AFC and St Stephen in Brannel Youth FC
  8. Saturday 10th October Torpoint 1 (Jake White 44) Foxhole 0 Magnificent Foxhole succumbed only to White's speculative free-kick moments from the end of a first half in which they defended stubbornly, limiting their high-flying hosts merely to sporadic chances. Torpoint enjoyed far more of the possession throughout but they lacked the guile and cutting edge required to break down a disciplined Foxes rearguard action again typified by Andrews, whose tenacious approach served to coax similarly excellent performances from his team-mates, in particular Wilkins, Mitchell and the returning A
  9. Saturday 3rd October 2020 Marjons 2 (Pritchard 2, McDonald 35) Foxhole 2 (James 50, 55) The arrival of talismanic striker Richard Griffin at the break provided the vital spark to a Foxes outfit who had looked dead and buried, his sheer presence and drive creating impetus for James to crack home two beauties. Finding themselves a goal down to Pritchard's confident finish within three minutes, Foxhole had no time to adjust to a strangely swirling wind and the peculiar challenges inevitably produced by a plastic pitch, the early withdrawal of Couch only adding to their problems. Marjons

  11. Foxhole AFC require a physio / sports therapist to support the first team players and coaching staff on match days. Key tasks include: - Helping to prepare players for matches (Saturday afternoons and occasionally midweek) - Providing run-on cover during games - Maintaining the first aid kit and equipment - Attendance at training nights would be beneficial but not essential. The role would suit someone currently studying for their physio / sports therapist qualification. You should hold a relevant sports first aid qualification or be willing to undertake the FA accredited c
  12. Saturday 26th September 2020 St Teath 3 (Brown 7, 49, Magyar 74) Foxhole 2 (Couch 22, Probert 42) Defensive frailties were again cruelly exposed as Foxhole snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. After recovering from conceding an early goal to Brown, who latched on to Hicks' ball to slot home, and being indebted to May for a couple of fine saves as St Teath's young strikers found themselves clear, the Foxes reached the break ahead, thanks to a brilliant long-range effort from Couch and a clever finish from Probert following a great turn. Changing ends meant the away side ostensibl
  13. Saturday 19th September 2020 Foxhole 6 (Probert 2, 80, White 5, James 34, 36, Bickle 86) St Erme 1 (George Brown 81) Foxhole (4-3-3) Dan Peters; Ryan Wilkins, Nathan Papaioannou, Steve Kellow, Josh Andrews; Jake Couch, Levi Kerrigan, Jay Manning; Martyn Probert, Richard James, Nathan White. Subs: Charlie Bickle, Jacob Mitchell, Dan Olver, Jack Oulton With both teams' respective opposition suffering covid scares, this hastily arranged friendly offered the opportunity to give game time to the whole squad, which included debutant Olver and returning custodian Peters, in for t
  14. Foxhole 1 (Probert 33) Perranwell 2 (Rowberry 22, Rose 83) Saturday 12th September 2020 After another tremendous display, Foxhole were unlucky to bow out of the Senior Cup against St Piran opposition who scraped through thanks to Rose's late header. With the match seemingly heading for extra time, Rose nodded home from close range past a helpless Rundle, who had performed heroically to keep his side in the tie. This was tough on the home team, who had again resisted with tenacity. Manning may have scored within moments of kick off, his effort cannoning off the keeper's legs, before P

  17. St Newlyn East 0 Foxhole 0 Tuesday 8th September 2020 Foxhole ground out a hard-earned point after a superb display full of grit, resilience and spirit. While the home team enjoyed a lion's share of the possession, they rarely looked capable of finding a way through a determined rearguard action. May was so well protected that he was only extended once when, in the final few minutes, a home forward finally managed to run beyond the outstanding Andrews / Kellow axis only to be denied by the keeper's legs. By that stage, Foxhole were looking every bit as likely to snatch the points, pa
  18. Well done to Stoke Gabriel for fulfilling the fixture. Plenty of teams are struggling to get a side out.
  19. Callington's victory at Polperro is particularly impressive as Full-Time suggests they only started with nine.
  20. Due to the coronavirus, ECPL teams are no longer required to complete and hand in a team sheet before the game. It's a shame as I relied on it a lot. While I fully accept the raison d'etre, it may explain any discrepancies between the list of players in my reports and information recorded on Full-Time.
  21. Foxhole 0 Newquay 4 (Ferguson pen 36, Flores 52, Burt 79, Colman 82) Saturday 5th September 2020 Foxhole's failure to capitalise on their domination in the first 20 minutes, when they squandered several golden chances, proved crucial as Newquay successfully weathered the storm, albeit often with some fortune, before ultimately running out comfortable victors. After the post had twice been struck through Kellow's header and James' drive, the visitors went ahead from the spot although Ferguson's weak kick was nearly saved by Lake, who had conceded the penalty after tripping Burnell.
