A deserved win for the visitors which moves them a couple places up the table.

Well struck half-volley goal for their second. Their No.7 - sorry haven’t got his name!

Div 2 Mawnan res 1 Redruth utd res 5

A fairly even first half with Mawnan creating the better clear cut chances but Redruth capitalising on a couple of mistakes. Firstly a low cross from the right was turned into his own net by a Mawnan defender and just after the half hour a poor short goal kick gave the Redruth forward an easy finish to double their lead.

Mawnan came out fired up, quicker to the ball and pulled one back within 10 minutes of the restart when a high ball was misheaded by the centre half allowing the Mawnan forward a free run on goal and he finished from the edge of the box. Redruth then made changes and the quality started to show. A header from a corner into the top of the goal restored their two goal lead after an hour, followed 6 minutes later by a lovely flowing passing move that found an unmarked forward at the far post. Redruth completed the scoring 15 minutes from time when a poor punch clear by the keeper fell to an attacker inside the box and he buried it in the bottom corner.

A really enjoyable game to watch and Mawnan never stopped battling despite fielding a weakened side compared to normal.
