St day reserves 2 Ludgvan 0

St day made hard work against a spirited but depleted Ludgvan side. A goal in each half gave St day the points. Great to see John Matthews still putting in a shift in his 60's.

Torpoint AFC 3rds 2-2 St Blazey Reserves

Scorers: Gibbons, Lewis

A well earned point against an impressive St Blazey side. First half was determined by the quality of George Newton who set up the opener with a lovely lofted cross for Wilcock to nod home, some poor decisions in both boxes felt like it could come back to bite us. Overall, the football from both sides in the first half was some of the better stuff I've seen in the League this season.

Second half, we started very brightly. Wood, Robbins and Clarke continually combined to cause problems down our right hand side but again, poor finishing and decision making in the final third kept Blazey in the lead. Our errors were compounded when Hambly drove into the box, after missing on the first swipe, Brayson continued to get too tight and rightly the referee pointed to the spot. Hambly stepped up with a great pen to make it 2-0, Westall going the right way. Undeterred, we continued to press and subs were made with injuries and fatigue (limited games in APRIL!) Another chance to get back in the game when Wood lofted a ball back post where I could only put it back across the goal softly for the keeper to save. I then had another opportunity when a fantastic ball was delivered by Robbins, losing the ball in the floodlights... I was only able to hit the bar but was able to chest home the rebound. Knowing we were back in it, it was soon after where another fantastic ball from Robbins was headed home by MoM Joe Lewis. We felt we'd have another opportunity, again unable to convert but it was the visitors with the best chance. Hambly capitalised on an error and drove forward, 1v1 he decided to square instead of shoot and with Brayson retreating to block, we ensured that the points were shared.

Another game when the side have shown that they have the ability to compete and have grown since the start of the season. One loss in 11 but a tough fixture this weekend away to Foxhole.
