RESULTS SUNDAY 31ST MARCH & MONDAY 1ST APRIL

Recommended Posts

  • Gary Hocking changed the title to RESULTS SUNDAY 31ST MARCH & MONDAY 1ST APRIL

Reds 2 Lanner 1

Went 1-0 down after 5 minutes with our skipper injured.

Great finish from Abbie for 1-1 just before the half and Eloise with her 16th league goal soon after half-time - a brilliant run and composed finish.

A couple of chances for both sides in the last 35, but nothing that troubled Sarah in goal too much. Held out for a brilliant 3 points and that's 9 wins from 12 league games (can't believe I'm writing that!)

Over 150 watching today. Incredible support and we thank each and everyone of them 🫡

Up the reds ❤️🖤❤️🖤

Great game to watch Dan, fantastic local derby crowd there too!! Been to loads of SWPL games this season had a lot less in attendance and atmosphere! Ladies football certainly thriving these days and easy to see why! Lanner had a great start with a good goal but the more the game went on the Reds got on top and ran out deserved winners with 2 lovely finishes I thought, to avenge the cup defeat earlier in the season by the same scoreline.

Well reffed, 2 really fair Lino’s, and great attitudes from the girls on both teams. So refreshing to watch no rolling around, no backchat to the officials, and despite it being an important top 3 clash the girls all had a handshake for each other at the final whistle. And a bacon roll and coffee on the £3 deal. Great stuff 😀👍👏🏼

Having seen teams awarded a walkover against Middlezoy Ladies on the Full Time site, further enquiries revealed that Middlezoy have withdrawn from the league with immediate effect.

Such a shame if that's true, we enjoyed our trips up there which included a visit to Bridgwater.
