Lifeintheolddog
St just Res 3 (2) vs Dropship 4 (2) Cup quarter final I believe and had plenty of action. First off as someone who’s played and managed from the Falmouth area I know there is never a easy game to be had at St Just, anyone offered a 1-0 take the points and leave match I think you’d bite their hand off 😂. Today was no different, Ashley Ellis dropped down due to first team being called off and 2 early chances equalled 2 early goals, not easy finishes either but he’s a class striker. Dropship huffed and puffed with very little threat until a corner just before half time was bizarrely slapped away by the defenders hand leading to an easy penalty decision for the ref. Robbo coolly despatched. 2 mins later Toby Webb was put through to calmly round the keeper and finished. 2-0 somehow had become 2-2 in minutes 🙈. Second half Dropship went 3-2 up and with 15 mins remaining 4-2 up although the linesman did his best to get it ruled out for offside in what I can only describe as one of the worst attempts of cheating I can remember but the ref was having none of it. It backfired though as a player went on a rant at the ref which led to a red card . St Just battled on though and squeezed in a 3rd to make it a nervous final few minutes but 4-3 it finished. Not much decent football played, think the result was probably the right one but St Just will be happier with how they played than Dropship will. special mention to TJ who after 60 minutes of constant whinging at the ref got sin binned only to storm off down the tunnel ( to have a shower , his words ). 2 minutes later he came back up after I imagine someone told him the rules 😂😂

Brandon Mcdonnell
Match Report RNAS Culdrose 2-6 St Erme St Erme travelled down to RNAS Culdrose looking to put the back to back defeats behind them and get the 3 points. The saints started the game with Dan in goal and back 4 of max, cam, Craig and Jared in front of them was Cain and Freddie with Jake and max on the wings and Brandon and Thierry up top. The saints started poor and not being able to string any sort of possession together. Luckily culdrose weren’t able to punish the sloppy start from the saints. Saints found a breakthrough when Cain T whipped in a cross and the defender tried to head clear but only found the back of his own net. The saints created a chance when Thierry M was played through on goal when he’s was taken out on the edge of the box, Brandon M took the resulting free kick who found the bottom corner. Culdrose reduced the deficit when the saints weren’t able to win a loose ball in the midfield and it fell to the striker who had a wonderful effort fly into to the top corner. With the saints not being able to get on the ball and get hold of the game they made two changes with sol coming on for cam at cb and Kyle coming into the midfield and Freddie pushing up top to replace max p. The saints started to control the game and possession and made it count when Brandon M picked up a clearance from the culdrose and sent his defender and slotted well into the bottom corner to regain their two goal lead. The saints added to the lead soon after when Freddie M played a ball out to wing to Brandon M who was able to find Thierry M who was able to beat the cb before lofting the ball over the keeper. The Saints didn’t stop there for the goals in the first half when Freddie M played Brandon M in behind the defence where he shot across goal beating the goalkeeper for a third time this half. The Saints went into half time 5-1 up but wasn’t reflection of how they were playing but shows signs of a good side winning but playing poorly so it’s a credit to the lads who how far they’ve come this season but still lots of improvements to be made. The Saints made two changes at half time bringing on Leverton for Jake and Alistair replacing Jared. Both sides started the second half slow we neither side creating many chances , the two cb’s of Craig S and Sol M was dealing with anything coming into the strikers. The Saints did create some chances but nothing clear cut another to find the back of the net. With the saints trying to play the right football out from the back they created a great opportunity with some passing a moving Max s slipped Freddie M down the line where he travelled down the and delivered a pin point cross for his brother Thierry M to tap home. Culdrose did find the back again after the rb was offered to much time to get his strike off which was well hit beating Dan M in goal. Culdrose had the chance to get a 3rd when the cb was found from a cross put steered his head wide. The full time whistle blew and the game ended 6-2 to the Saints a good win for the saints but the performance will have to improve for next week when we play host to Dropship FC. MOTM today was Freddie M who had a solid performance in midfield putting some great challenges in and also getting 2 crucial assists. We wish RNAS Culdrose Football Club all the best for the remainder of the season. #upthesaints❤️
