Mullion 3-6 Penryn (Southeard X2, Davies X3, Dent)

A cracking semi final at St Day. We (Penryn) started the better but missed a few early chances, as the half went on it became a much more even game. Mullion took the lead after half an hour after good work down the left from the lively winger, who saw his cross fly in to the far top corner. 10 minutes later Mullion made it 2 when Ryn failed to deal with a corner & the Mullion forward reacted fastest to smash a shot in from 10 yards. Mullion were on top for the remainder of the half & looked like they could score from any 1 of their multiple corners they had. Ryn pulled 1 back against the run of play right on ht from the spot when Lewis Pellow was brought down in the box & Brad Southeard made no mistake with the penalty. Ryn made 3 changes at half time & the game turned on its head, 10 mins in to the half substitute Jak Davies got in behind the Mullion back line & cooley finished to make the score 2-2. Ryn quickly took the lead after some superb play from Kyle Cooke which led to him putting in a pinpoint cross which substitute Liam Dent did brilliantly to head home in to the top corner. After this it was 1 way traffic & Penryn made it 4 when Jak Davies again got in behind & lashed his shot in to the roof of the net. It was 5 shortly after when Kyle Cooke was brought down in the box & Brad Southeard again scored from the spot, as with the 1st the keeper went the right way but couldn't get near it. With 5 to go Penryn were too casual at the back & the lively Mullion forward intercepted a pass & was hacked down in the box before dusting himself off & dispatching the penalty for 5-3. Ryn had the last say with a minute to go when Davies nicked the ball off the Mullion centre half & finished well to complete his hat trick.

It was a competitive semi final with both teams playing their part. Mullion are a great bunch & we wish them well for the rest of the season.
