The Villains
Saltash 2 - 1 Ivybridge No surprises that the Ivybridge goal was under seige within minutes of kickoff. Very poor finishing from Saltash strikers meant that the score remained 0-0 for the first 25ish minutes. Saltash were lucky not to concede a penalty for hand ball 5mins earlier! Saltash kept the pressure on, until Ivybridge broke away and with a great cross field pass to the right winger, where the keeper failed to reach the ball before the Ivybridge player, who side footed the ball into an empty net from just outside the box. The Ivybridge goal had a charmed life, abet poor finishing from Saltash the score at HT 0-1. The 2nd half very much as the 1st half, saw Ivybridges goalkeeper the most busiest & eventually on the hour mark, Saltash drew level. Continuous pressure from the home side, eventually a mistake by away defence allowed Saltash to get there 2nd goal. Both sides continued to try to get another goal, to no avail. Fair result, could have been double figures, if the home side had worn their scoring boots....
