Truro v Thurrock

Recommended Posts

The two leakiest defences are on show at Treyew Road tomorrow so there should be goals aplenty. A win for Truro over last-placed Thurrock will take them a vital step closer to safety and BSS football net season. Decent weather forecast tomorrow so should be a good game and great value for money! KO 3:00 PM.

Truro City does well against teams from the top half of the league table, when playing them we are in 7th place.

Truro City are TERRIBLE against teams from the bottom half of the table when playing them and are last in 22nd place.

Tomorrow Truro Fans are in for a treat, Martin Gritton is a ball winner in the air, Aaron Vassell is very quick up front,

despite our league position Truro have been playing some good football so with the rest of the lads turning it on it

should be a great game of football.

I was speaking to the Thurrock Manager and his assistant manager at Basingstoke they were upbeat about their team

the managing of the team changed 14 games ago and there are three of them looking after team affairs, performance

has been good, stronger in defence recently but a big failing is goalscoring at the other end.

Could City's new signings open the floodgates? maybe they are what we have needed all season, they certainly give us

that impression.

Note:- The underlining is pure accident, hopefully it will go away when I next post something.

3-0 bang on. Thurrock may have been poor but it was a great display by Truro who didn't give Thurrock a sniff. Gritton looked sharp and was my man of the match. Staines somehow managed to beat Dover 4-0 so Truro are still 7 points clear of relegation. Next week is Truro away to Staines.

This was my first visit to trerew road for a few seasons and i was impressed with the work done on the ground . my only disapointment was there being no club shop as i promised my new girlfriends 9 year old son who has adopted city as his club, that i would get him a city scarf or hat and im sure the last time i visited there was a clubshop in the ground, although a cheeseburger and coke plus city winning soon cheered him up !!! As for the game itself Truro could of been 4 or 5 up at half time if it wasnt for the thurock goalkeeper although i felt the keeper may of been lucky to be still on the pitch after handeling outside his area. It was also good to see Gritton get on the scoresheet on his home debut and i feel he will be a sucess there. I do believe city will stay up this year although i do fear the worst for Thurock who looked a very poor side.
