Graham Martin
Truros scorers - Andy Watkins and 2 from Marvin Brown. At Last - a Home League Win...! Truro really should have had a few more goals but the goalposts and the keeper kept the score down. Halesowen next - away on Saturday. Next home match - Tuesday 16th v Bashley. Tom Trust
Blimey! Knockers (critics, not ladies' chests!) go on about Truro's money and players from higher leagues and so on but they don't boast a player with a pedigree like that! I thought their 10, Tommy Black, was sharp, too. In the second half he loosed off a first-touch shot from outside the box at inside-left* that shaved the far post. Hell of a dig from a long diagonal pass, no time for the full back to even close him down. That would have been 3 - 2 and a sticky last ten minutes! (* An historical Association Footballing term meaning some point between the middle of the pitch and the touchline in the opponent's half. Modern terminology refers to it, rather misleadingly in the Geographical or nautical sense, as "the channel". )
