WENDRON V PORTHLEVEN

Recommended Posts

somewhat flattering scoreline i felt. porthleven deserved the win and created the better chances, but there is know doubt wendron could of got on the scoresheet themselves; conceding 3 soft goals in the last 15mins.

things are vastly improving at wendron and im fully confident good results will come.

all the best to porthleven, nice to see a decent sized crowd at the underlane too.

I grant you that Wendron were actually better than what I expected to see, but barely three shots at goal in the second 45 minutes doesn't bode well for the future.

Have Wendron bitten off more than they can chew by going into the SWPL?

wendron haven't bitten off more than they can chew at all,as when we went into the swpl we had a strong team that consisted of players that are now at penryn, newquay, porthleven(all top sides from last season), its going to be a long season for the 'dron, hope it sorts itself out,its a shame for such a great club to be getting negative press for the the backround stuff thats effecting the play

Well the word on the street is that its being suggested some of your top officials aren't that fussed about SWPL football.

And what's happened to Gary Pascoe? Last season the first team coach/manager for the run-in to the end of the season, watching only on Monday? Surely a waste of hsi talent.

And as for a "great club" - admittedly the club has achieved miracles with the funding obtained and hence the facilities that are evident to all, but what constitutes a "great club" - at the end of the day its ambition as well on the pitch and ultimately winning trophies. Could that be a the root cause why the players have moved on?

Didnt wendron finish something like 7th when they went up? Hardly a strong team 7th in the combo?????

5th actually :clapper: the promotion was probably due to the end of season form losing 1 in about 15 and the fact that the facilities are one of the best in the county, however we probably did step up too soon but if we hadn't the players that have now gone would of left 2 years sooner :(
