  1. What a very one sided outlook of the game littered with little snide digs lol. Falmouth played well poss deserves something from the game but it’s all about goals. Sholuld have been a pen I agree, blatant elbow which you can’t argue against st just team and crowd conducted themselves as most teams expect them too lol, what lovely people 😂. we ll move on as will they, despite everything good luck in next round 👍
  2. Falmouth United 2 vs 3 Goonhavern Res firstly like to congratulate Goonhavern, they battled superbly from start to finish, I was left on my own to manage today and was really pissed off at full time as it looks bad on me but after having time to reflect I’ve got no arguments. We controlled the game probably 70-30 possession and had probably had 30 ish shots to 5 maybe but the final score is all that matters and Goonhavern deserved their celebrations they earned it. Also can’t fault our boys football apart from the final product which sometimes you have to put down to just “ one of those days “. Smash and grab from the Goonies, all the best from Falmouth United for the season, set up like that you ll be very hard to break down fo most teams 👍 Junior cup next week VS St just at home to look forward too
  3. Think the heading FALMOUTH UNITED should be changed as after the first 3 replies this whole thread is about swearing and different people’s views and nothing to do with our club 😂😂
  4. Personally I think this is something that needs addressing at professional level if it’s going to punished more at Sunday league. Kids watching professionals swearing at refs on TV and getting away with it doesn’t set good standards. Pretty sure for £50k a week we could all stop swearing full stop given the chance 😂.
  5. Thanks for the kind words about the football, thought after the initial spat was out of the way that frogpool conducted themselves much better. Falmouth were clearly the better team today but a lot of sides would have resorted to kicking and getting shitty with the Falmouth youngsters but frogpool didn’t and kept plugging away. Good luck to frogpool from all at Falmouth, thanks for coming back to Penryn FC after too 👍
  6. Falmouth United 1st (div2) 7 goonavern 2nds (div2) 0 great game, 2 young sides, Falmouth by far the batter side on the day but goonhavern have always been our bogey side so we won’t take anything for granted when we face them in the league. Good luck to goonhavern for the season 👍 falmouth scores Connor Hurrell x3, Jack Symons, Archie Beckemsail, Jack Froud and Matt Rodden
  7. Don’t think any rules were broken just shows teams in future don’t agree to Sunday games with dropship 😂. From what I’ve heard dropship promised Helston they would nt load up then did. Think it’s just lesson learned and hopefully other teams don’t fall for it
  8. 100% agree, can see why there are shortage of refs and all you get is winged at and snide little comments. I’ve been the person winging at the ref I won’t lie but it’s not until you put yourself in their shoes you understand and respect what they do. I stepped in ( I’m qualified but still to do with the team due to my son playing ) away to Tregony, got a lot of grief as I expected, may not have got every decision right but let game flow as I saw it. Most of the players fine after, guy I’m assuming was in charge said he thought I was absolutely fair which was great but one guy refused to shake my hand and just said “ no chance “ 🤷. Think VAR in football has made life harder for local refs as players forget they have nt got it in Trelawny football 😂😂. Be nice to see more players who are finishing their playing years take up the whistle but like me maybe that may be pushing it with the wives and family’s . Good luck to all the people stepping in this season 👍
  9. That’s where agreeing to play on a Sunday bites you in the ass, Liam Chinn and Zac telling would have been playing against Truro reserves sat avo in the St Pirans league. 😂.
  10. Helston raiders 1-3 Falmouth United res Another 3 points for United today, not a polished performance but by far the better team tonight, should have had few more goals, shame to concede from the spot. Well done to Mike and the boys, clubs looking in a good way 👍
  11. We appealed the original decision as we did nt get a fair chance to explain to the clubs what we are about and the FA backed our appeal and made the combo committee do a proper AGM. This aggravated them which they made quite apparent and they stood by their decision with goldophin and mullion which we accepted. It left us and mousehole out. Mousehole then folded, which only left us wanting to advance. Illogan then pulled out and we contacted combo immediately asking to fill the void but were told NO we don’t want to upset trelawney. We contacted trelawney and they gave us their blessing and we’re then still told no by combo. Surely keeping combo to 16 was better than 15? I don’t think there’s anything we could do or say they just point blank don’t want us in
  12. Think your 10/15 year comment bit disrespectful. Mullion finished top of div 2 and got in, goldolphin folded 2 seasons ago so had no junior side and went straight into combo. To put in context ( really nice bunch and would never say a bad word against them and they have all our best wishes ) we played them in friendly 3 weeks ago and with 10mins to go we were winning 5-1 with 5 quality 16 year olds playing until we changed it around and won 5-4. im not here to slate other teams or fall out I just think it’s an injustice that other teams in similar situations got in above us which was voted on which I accept but then a team drops out and we are the only ones left to fill the void and the committee still point blank refuse us. I wander how personally you’d take it if it was your club 🤔
  13. Brand new Astro, with decent dressing rooms and showers, we meet the criteria. Ruan minor did flourish they basically finished top last 2 years, sure they ve dropped out now but so have illogan , doesn’t make them any less of a club. As it’s been pointed out lack of players is why teams fold, we at Falmouth will never have this problem due to constant supply of youth. Hence it would have been beneficial to have junior and senior to accommodate the different ability’s coming through. I envisage us having a 3rd team in the not too distant future. Not everyone will agree and I understand that and in an ideal world I agree promotion and relegation should be done on winning league but not every team has the facilities and ambition. We ll struggle to keep our talented youth out of the hands of other local teams when senior football is waved at them which is hard to take when we’ve coached them from 5/6/7 years old.
  14. Goldolphin, ruan minor, rosudgeon???? None of these got there without a helping hand and have flourished. We are a massive setup getting bigger by the year and like most other clubs having a junior and senior pathway would make sense, by speeding it along would stop us from losing senior quality youngsters from our ranks. We don’t feel entitled, the combo is short on teams so it made sense, they lost 1 team and there was 1 ready to step in.
  15. No, we contacted the trelawney league direct and they gave us their full backing and said disruption to them would be minimal. We passed this info onto the powers that be at the combo and we’re still point blankly refused. 🤔
  16. Falmouth United, as the only remaining team wishing to join the combination offered to fill the space left by illogans departure but the committee decided although they meet all the criteria that the league would continue minus a team with 15. 🤔🤔. Anyone would think there’s a grudge there
  17. The combo did nt have enough teams so although promotion is the fair way to move up, if there’s not enough teams with ambition or facilities to meet criteria then either the league stays very small or you accept teams that have everything in place. Godolphin are a lovey bunch and we wish them all the best but we are established club and I really think we could have added to the combo league. Wasn’t to be, the appeal was never going to change anything that was made quite apparent when the meeting started but we had our say. Also good luck to mousehole u21s with whatever their future holds 👍
  18. Falmouth United 1sts looking for away friendly sat 31st july, anyone considered east or west. Contact Tim 07969965415
  19. Hi, we at Falmouth United are looking for a away friendly on sat 31st July due to a cancellation. We are only div 2 trelawny but looking to challenge ourselves. Contact Tim on 07969965415 👍
  20. A team in the league with ambition should nt jump up and help them reach their ambitions quicker and develop and challenge their youth but NEW teams should jump straight in??? There wasn’t enough teams to make up the Combo so teams applied, congratulations to the teams who got in, no sour grapes at all but I think too many people don’t know the facts behind teams applying. Congrats to Mullion and Ben at Godolphin 👍
  21. Ah sorry, just assumed as they are now in the Combo that they were classed as senior. They had a few known senior faces playing for them I know that much. They were definitely more senior than Falmouths kids 😂😂😂😂😂 still good run out and nice bunch so wish them all the best for the future 👍
  22. Falmouth United 1st trelawny 2 5-4 (4-0 ht ) Godolphin 2nds Combo Superb first pre-season result for us at Falmouth against a senior side, played in great spirits and well reffed. Special mention to the 4 16 year olds who played joining the 5 17/18 year olds, hopefully futures bright. falmouth goals lewis Preston 2 matt baxter matt rodden connor hurrell
  23. St Ives 1-3 Falmouth United Not bad afternoon weather wise down St Ives, not our best performance but felt we probably deserved to win. St Ives keeper sent off after 25-30 mins for handling well outside his box at 0-0, few niggly fouls both ways and plenty of whinging from both sides lol. Bit disappointed to be told at 3-1 that we were shit but hey Ho they are entitled to an opinion. Another good run for 2 of our under 16s, one of them scoring 2 goals so hopefully with the 3/4 others we ll have playing next year the futures bright. congratulations to St Ives on the league, all the best for next season 👍
