Another good result for the Peppermints - good to see Paul Hampshire on the scoresheet. Good crowd as well probably made bigger because the 'G' had their match called off!

With a suspension and holiday Newquay had Joff Bunt in the defence - the young man played brilliantly and this after a difficult day for the lad with his Grandfather's funeral in the morning. What a real star and Newquay Football Club are very grateful for the gesture and the Club is in safe hands with people of this calibre.

I was at the Porthleven v Camelford match watching as a Neutral. Good game however a little one sided. The Fisherman's first goal was amazing D Burchell scored a screamer of a volley. Port pretty much dominated the game and home goalkeeper Danny Burrows was rarely challenged. New Signing Stuart Renyolds got about the pitch and even though it was his first 90 mins for a while led a attack that pressured the visitors throughout the game getting his debut goal via a penalty late on in the game. The visitors did have their chances but failed to capitalise on them. My man of the match was Josh Kemp who never stopped. I understand Kemp will also be representing Cornwall next week so congratulations to him. Also great to see Paparazzi for the first time at the match, its always good to see members on my travels around Cornish football.

Miles from home - I posted this today in another thread, should explain all!

Paul Robertson played for Newquay in the Combo yesterday, he slotted in very well, got on really well with the lads and his quality was more than evident. Not only that, he was positive and upbeat and contributed to the already excellent team spirit. I seriously doubt that Paul will be playing many more games with us, but we will make the most of it while we have him involved. Regardless, his addition to the club is a real positive.

Paul looked settled straight away, he slotted home a penalty to equalise and always looked a threat going forward, especially when he executed an outstanding first time volley that hit the crossbar - we're still debating if it was over the line!

I guess his move makes sense living only a short distance outside of Newquay. It's great to have somebody of Paul's calibre at the club and I am sure he will have a positive influence on some of our talented young forwards.

And not a single mention of money...
