Guest higgy
what is with the 35 day bans in cornwall?? does every county have them at this level or are we just left back in the dark ages?? is there any way the CCFA would be able/ want to look into changing it? i just felt it was unfair that some players could miss a couple of games in the winter months (if games are cancled) while others could miss 7-8 games towards the end of the season if midweek games are being played!! surely this is not a fair way banning player?? beaves
A very good point higgy..if i had just finished serving a 35 day ban i would have missed one game!!!surely it makes more more sense to have game bans and is no more complicated to do so?? Anita
Easy way to solve the problem, don't go getting yourself banned in the first place :drink:
telithowitis
I have questioned this with Cornwall FA before and was told the "day ban" system was used because of the amount of players in junior football in Cornwall who sign for multiple clubs. ie a 2 game ban could be used up in one weekend if a player was signed for a Sunday team as well as Saturday club. Bambi
I agree with Higgy. Perhaps the CCFA should consider introducing match bans for players who have only signed for one club, but keeping day bans for players who have signed for more than one club. This may reduce the number of players signing for multiple clubs and acknowledge loyalty. Just a thought.

isaac rosenberg
What an excellent idea, Bambi ! Too intelligent, so it'll never catch on ! I'm surprised the CCFA haven't introduced public flagellation with a gym shoe in the centre circle for players who misbehave, laid on by pensioned-off P.E.teachers. That could be an re-employment opportunity for some of their best brains. :D
Tommy Matthews
It's been something that the CCFA have been trying to solve for some time, I think it has something to do with the various steps in the game now and how they can combine the old and new systems to best effect. isaac rosenberg
Yes, the steps are important. I remember one P.E.teacher who always took two steps back before coming in to flog his victim with the plimsoll. Didn't half add momentum ! It reminded of that nasty scene from "The Tenptation of the Christ". Anyway, mustn't spoil anybody's lunch !
Guest BooBoo
The system is the same in Oxfordshire, probably right in thinking this is set by the FA for these levels and filtered down through local FA's.
rawa
The system is the most pathetic, inept system you'll ever see. Match bans are the only way forward. When is this going to be changed. It really isn't that hard to change, but they can't be bothered to look in to other ways. I find it laughable that you can break someones leg and get 3 games, and someone could swear out loud and miss up to 8 games at some points in the season. Crazy.
