Wednesday 6th July

Penryn 3 (Cooke 2, Davies 9, McKenna 44) Foxhole 4 (Rowe 39, 75, Coates 47, Bould 52)

Defending a strong wind and a fierce sun, the Foxes soon found themselves two down. Perraton's drive was parried straight into the path of a grateful Cooke before Davies took advantage of a loose ball to plant a low shot to the right of a wrong-footed Prynn from ten yards. Centre-forward Perraton continued to cause all sorts of problems with his brute strength and willingness to show, while Brewer intelligently ran the midfield, as Foxhole struggled to retain the ball early on. However, gaps began to appear in the home rearguard when they were at last faced with some concerted pressure and it was no surprise when Rowe reduced the arrears from twenty-five yards, although Page may have done better, the ball eluding his flailing arms. Lively substitute McKenna then made it 3-1, turning inside makeshift right-back Jowan Dingle and burying his effort into the top corner.

With the elements now in their favour, the visitors were to achieve parity within seven minutes. First Coates volleyed home from a corner before Bould's optimistic toe-poke deceived replacement 'keeper Allen, who was to compensate for his error with a string of fine saves to deny the rampant, if profligate, Foxes. While the more clear cut opportunities fell to a white shirt, Penryn were always in the game, especially prior to the withdrawal of key men Perraton and Brewer amongst the inevitable host of substitutions from both sides. Prynn, though, was rarely flustered so Rowe's winner, a great shot from nearly forty yards, was deserved,

Foxhole (4-3-3): James Prynn; Jowan Dingle, Luke Damerell, Angel Coates, Lee Rickard; Jake Couch, Tim Peers, Aidan Dingle; Tyler Cheshire, Benno Bould, Courtney Rowe. Subs: Levi Kerrigan, Caleb Hawkin, Aaron Beresford, Nadir Abdulkarim, Jay Manning.

Penryn squad: Chris Page, Dan Lord, Billy Williams, Joe McIlroy, Lewis Pellow, Brad Southeard, Jordan Moyle, Steve Brewer, Mark Kent, Kyle Cooke, Jak Davies, Gavin Perraton, Jermaine McKenna, Craig Allen.

Well played the super Foxes. Good luck to Penryn. Many thanks to Kevin Knowles and the home lino.

Foxhole 2 (Rowe 47, Carl Rickard 63) Wendron reserves 4 (Langford 6, Bailey Packenas 28, Emmett 36, Buckley 53)

While the result was fair as Wendron were the better side overall as befits their St Piran status, Foxhole made a decent fist of it, creating numerous chances without quite being able to stretch either of the visiting keepers sufficiently. To their credit, the Foxes also tightened up considerably at the back after the break (Buckley's free header from a corner notwithstanding), having conceded three sloppy first half goals. Langford notched the opener, reacting first to a loose ball after a free-kick had not been cleared, before a quick break led to Bailey Packenas' deflected effort deceiving Prynn. Finding themselves two down was harsh on Foxhole, who were competing well and had succeeded in opening up the Wendron defence several times, with Rowe especially lively. However their inability to add the finishing touch to some impressive approach play was punished when Emmett was somehow allowed to wriggle through to score left-footed. It should have been worse when Coates was penalised for a trip, but Taylor Packenas' penalty was saved by Prynn's legs.

Rowe's brilliant shot from twenty-five yards finally brought some tangible success, but Buckley soon lost his marker to head home from point-blank range. That was the last we would see of Wendron as an attacking threat, Damerell's switch to the middle of the rearguard and the arrival of Wilkins offering some stability, but Carl Rickard's great goal, low into the corner from distance to complete an excellent flowing move, was scant reward for a good performance. The match was brought to a premature end when Rickard fell awkwardly with three minutes remaining.

Foxhole (4-3-3): James Prynn; Jowan Dingle, Luke Damerell, Angel Coates, Lee Rickard; Levi Kerrigan, Aidan Dingle, Jake Couch; Benno Bould, Caleb Hawkin, Courtney Rowe. Subs: Nadir Abdulkarim, Oliver Deadman, Carl Rickard, Ryan Wilkins.

Wendron: Jamie Stuart; Lennon Watts, Lee Pawley, Cameron Searle, Tyler Buckley, Tyler Oliver, Taylor Packenas, Tom Fisher, Tom Langford, Max Bowden, Bailey Packenas. Subs: Joe Emmett, Ben Martin, Charlie Young, Fynn Mills.

Well played the super Foxes. Good luck to Wendron. Many thanks to Sam Doble.

Foxhole 3 (Bould 5, Rowe 27, 52) Sticker reserves 3 (Solomon 60, Lucas 66, Mitchell 70)

Foxhole paid the price for not killing the game after completely dominating the first half. Bould's clever lob from Prynn's drop-kick was followed by Rowe's equally confident finish from the impressive Aidan Dingle's great early ball, but, despite creating a host of chances, Clarke was not to be beaten again until early in the second half when Rowe smashed in a tremendous goal from thirty yards. The all-action performance had been brilliant until then, rock solid at the back, tigerish in the tackle, habitually first to the ball and some great one-touch passing to leave Sticker chasing shadows. However, with tiring legs, the Foxes soon found themselves struggling to cope with a revitalised opponent, Mitchell's switch of wings to outside-left causing a particular problem. It was his cross that Prynn could only direct into the path of a grateful Solomon that sparked the comeback, and it wasn't long before Lucas was allowed to turn and fire home from twelve yards despite the presence of numerous white shirts. Mitchell's equaliser from distance was coming, Sticker then appearing more likely to snatch a winner throughout the remaining twenty minutes. While an ultimately disappointing result, the outstanding display in the first hour offers great optimism to the Goverseth faithful.

Foxhole (4-3-3): James Prynn; Ryan Wilkins, Luke Damerell, Angel Coates, Lee Rickard; Levi Kerrigan, Aidan Dingle, Jake Couch; Benno Bould, Jowan Dingle, Courtney Rowe. Subs: Nadir Abdulkarim, Brodie Mitchell.

Sticker (4-3-3): Connor Clarke; Jack Walker, Tom Boardman, Andrew Avery, Harley Sims; Harry Boardman, Nathan Allen, Bailey Smith; Wade Mitchell, Derrick Lucas, Adam Solomon. Subs: Jake Edmondson, Ewan Warren, Aidan Lees, Joe Rogers, AN Other, AN Other.

Well played the super Foxes. Good luck to Sticker. Many thanks to Sam Doble and Steve Sloggett.

Any help with the missing Sticker names appreciated.

Perranwell 2 (James 86, Kim 90) Foxhole 0

Two late goals settled this tight encounter of precious few golden chances at either end. Once again, tired legs contributed to a disappointing finale but there were some positives against a decent St Piran outfit, not least the inclusion of Stockley, who will offer greater creativity to the midfield. With the game threatening to peter out, Rose's low centre from the right was swept home by substitute James before, right at the death, the outstanding Kim slid home James' cross from a yard to cap a brilliant display by the diminutive striker.

Foxhole (4-3-3): James Prynn; Ryan Wilkins, Luke Damerell, Angel Coates, Lee Rickard; Levi Kerrigan, Aidan Dingle, Jake Couch; Benno Bould, Jowan Dingle, Courtney Rowe. Subs: Jay Manning, Tim Peers, Lewis Stockley.

Perranwell (4-3-3): Phil Rees; Sam Fisher, Matt Lane, Dave Standing, James Rowberry; Matt Rose, Ketan Cooper, Alex Hayhoe; Kian Rowland, Dan Kim, Danhi Harvey. Subs: Logan Thomas, Chris Madeley, Darren Davey, Simon James.

Well played the super Foxes. Good luck to Perranwell. Many thanks to the referee and home lino.

Tuesday 2nd August

Foxhole 2 (Jowan Dingle 55, Peers 58) Porthleven 0

Foxhole edged out their youthful St Piran opponents with two goals early in the second half, both of which were deflected beyond Carpenter. First, the elder Dingle raced onto Dave Rickard's raking pass to outmuscle a defender and fire home, before a fine dribble by the outstanding Beresford was eventually halted, only for Peers to react well to the loose ball. Carpenter had earlier denied Carl Rickard with a brilliant save, as the home team had the better chances of a game largely devoid of goalmouth incident, which was largely due to the excellence of the defending at either end rather than any attacking shortcomings. Both sides played some tidy football in a very enjoyable encounter, the Foxes in particular knocking the ball around to dazzling effect.

Foxhole (4-3-3): James Prynn; Ryan Wilkins, Luke Damerell, Dave Rickard, Lee Rickard; Aaron Beresford, Aidan Dingle, Jake Couch; Carl Rickard, Tim Peers, Jowan Dingle. Subs: Jay Manning, Levi Kerrigan, Brodie Mitchell.

Porthleven squad: Keenan Carpenter; Conor Bowman, Jack Charles, Dan Greet, Jordan Greet, Evan Hubbard, Shaun Jackson-Guy, James Johnson-Whitworth, Sam Leslie, Harry Luckett, Jevon Nolan, Dan Parker, James Salter, Martyn Webster, Fraser Wiliams, Connor Webb.

Well played the super Foxes. Good luck to Porthleven. Many thanks to Dan Catacutan.
