Penryn (Brewer, Roberts, Pellow, Davies) 4-1 Wendron

A much tougher game than we had against them in the cup last week. 1st 15 minutes there wasn't much between the 2 teams, Ryn then went 1-0 up with a bit of brilliance Steve Brewer down the left when he took on the centre half, beat him & rifled his shot in the corner of the net. Penryn then took control & went 2-0 up after more great work down the left which ended in Lewis Pellow whipping in a ball for Jason Roberts to head home from close range. The half ended with Penryn on top but Wendron looking dangerous from free kicks in & around the box.

Ht 2-0

Penryn didn't learn their lesson as Wendron scored a direct free kick from 25 yards 2 mins into the 2nd half. It was looking like we would be in for a tough afternoon but Lewis Pellow scored the pick of the goals with Penryns very next attack to restore the 2 goal lead, Jason Roberts whipped in a ball which Pellow brought down brilliantly before firing a half volley in to the top bin. Both teams made a few 2nd half subs & the game became a bit hectic, both teams committing men forward & getting caught on the counter. Ryn put the game to bed with 10 mins left when Jak Davies beat the Wendron back line before coolly stroking the ball in to the far corner.

Best of luck to Wendron for the rest of the season, as always they gave their all for 90 mins & were well in the game.

Penryn move to the top of the table on goal difference with the win, but 2nd place Helston have a game in hand. Will be a feisty 1 when the 2 teams meet later this month.
