Duchy Division Three decided

Recommended Posts

Lanivet Inn travelled to Pensilva last night facing the tough task of getting a  victory to secure the Division Three title, having witnessed Pens beat their title rivals, St Minver Reserves, last week.

Lanivet played up the hill first half and created more chances than Pensilva but trailed one nil at laf time. The visitors stuck to their task after the break and continued to create chances but it was the home side that went 2 up. Lanivet eventually found the net but as they pushed hard to get level they left themselves vulnerable at the back and Pensilva grabbed a couple of more late goals.

On the run of play and chances created Lanivet should have been able to lift the champions trophy but it had to stay in the boot of my car once again, but the player did receive their runners-up trophies. this result left St Minver reserves as Champions.

Full credit to a gutsy Pensilva side who have played something like 12 games in under 5 weeks and another win in their last game at Grampound on Saturday will see them finish in third place and almost certainly gain promotion. They also face Godolphin in the final of the League Cup next week and i think they are in with a real chance of causing an upset.
