Holmans 1 - 5 St.Agnes

Our goal was an OG, Gary Bell swung in a cross of sorts and an outstretched 'aggy leg turned it home. We went in 1-0 up at half time, I think it's fair to say we were much the better side in the first half. Lots of good flowing moves with a lot of play going through 16 year old Lewis Goldsworthy who was terrorising the opposition defence with his turning/dribbling. We just didn't make enough of those plays count.

The second half was difficult for us. The long walk up to the changing rooms and back in the beating sun is to blame in my opinion. St.Agnes opted for the convenience of some pitch side shade instead, which turned out to be a masterstroke.

To be fair, 4 out of 5 of their goals were ridiculous end of season DVD material. The first goal was a 6 yard box poach after a long throw, the second was a 35 yard strike which found the top left corner after the centre midfielder broke, dribbled and spanked it. Luke Wort's goals were all telling of his quality really, a couple of long rangers where he had absolutely nothing on and he turned it into a goal. Also a dribble inside with a placed finish. Aggy's final goal came from the young sub who hit a dipping shot late on, again high in the corner and probably un-savable.

So I feel like the scoreline doesn't really reflect proceedings fully. Although St.Agnes were dominant in the second half, they didn't create a lot of clear cut chances, it was mostly just direct balls being finished really well. With the difference in quality of a player like Luke Wort really showing.

Good dosage of Vitamin D either way though and on to a much easier fixture on Tuesday with minnows Ludgvan making the short trip up the A30.

Helston 3- 5 Hayle , Helston took the lead in the first minute and could have been two up in the first three, then a storming 15 minute spell put Hayle 5-1 up and Helston were rocked ,  and if it wasn't for some good keeping and missed chances there could have been more for Hayle , Helston scored their second before ha!F time to make it 5-2. second half  Helston came back into the game and scored a third  but Hayle were always dangerous on the break , well reffed by Kevin Knowles  , no cards , no bad challenges, Kevin let the game flow and played the advantage well , a good game for the fans and both sides Played it in a competitive way , but also sporting , ground as always looked great a credit to all involved at Helston .
