pointers Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 So what will be 'new' about it? Resurfacing? A clubhouse? Tea and coffee facilities??
sammo 66 Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 Think you will find the pitch is now the one directly outside the changing rooms, which as always been the best pitch at clijah. Tea and coffee was available there all last season plus other snacks. The clubhouse is just down the road its called St Rumons , you should try it pointers its very pleasant. Well done to everyone at the club for trying to keep moving forward on and off the field
Martin Eddy Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 pointers.we as a club are trying to improve, it is so easy to sit back and be negative. clijah croft will never be Wembley but it is still our home
pointers Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I'm no knocking your club at all just asking questions regarding the ground, I'm all for clubs improving facilities and also the standard of the league in doing so, good luck with it all.
Martin Eddy Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 thanks pointers. a lot of preparation has gone into the work that will be or has been done and we hope that the football fraternity will view our pitch in a different light. but this is only the beginning "Rome was not built in a day" as the saying goes.
pointers Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Very true, so have you moved the railings down to the new pitch or going for rope? Dugouts too?
BAGMAN Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Helston Athletic will host Redruth United in a pre-season friendly on Friday 18 July.
Martin Eddy Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 starting from scratch pointers leaving the top pitch as it is and fencing off the one in front of the changing rooms. yes we will have dug outs as well.
pointers Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Wow great effort a lot of work to be done! Have you a big money man behind the club now to fund this work!? Ha
Martin Eddy Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 we have some backers but we as a club are doing several fundraisers throughout the summer to raise the funds needed. time the season comes some of us will be knackered and glad of a rest
Phil Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Good luck with the improvements martin. I see you have a fundraiser cycling to every combo ground in the league. Hope your on a tandem!!!
Pitty Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 st Just to Newquay could be a bit emotional!!!!.........Unless your doing it over 2 days and throw in a night out in the holiday chaos of Newquay then the next day could be proper very very emotional!!!! #soreheads
gerrard8 Posted June 12, 2014 Author Report Posted June 12, 2014 112 miles to every pitch in the combo in one day ! Even james cracknell is thinking twice about it.
MJP Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 Let me know when you are going to be at Wendron Neal, I will see if we can organise some refreshments for you. Good luck with the fund raising, it gets more difficult each year. Apart from two league fixtures, and if we get you in the cup, good luck for next season!

Hobbit Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 Message for Postman Pat. If you are who I think you are I will donate £25 to Redruth United if you run either from your home address, which I believe to be in Illogan, to Kellaway Park, Helston on the 18th July. Accept the challenge I will also ensure there is a refreshing pint of lager ready and waiting for you upon your arrival.
Martin Eddy Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 yes Mr Hendy it is me or should I say chairman. make it a Magners and your on. only problem will be the route. do not fancy running on the main road. this will be one month after attempting the bike ride to every combo ground from this season gone. Margaret is not happy I have only been on the bike 3 times this month as training. will be good to catch up if I am still alive
Hobbit Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 Magners it is, Original or Pear. Look forward to catching up on the 18th July.
