We had a dodgy 5 minute spell where the first goal and the red card changed the pattern of the game. That's not to say you didn't deserve the three points, because your experience and quality gave you the edge.

Foxhole next. Should be good!

Duchy 1:-

Grampound 10-1 Calstock

The visitors were completely overpowered and the score could have been anything, with Grampound missing at least 20 other good chances to score. Congratulations to Calstock for battling to the end and they even scored a consolation after two ****-ups in 3 seconds by a Grampound substitute. Grampound scorers were Shane Weeks (4), Hayden Boxall (2), Dean Dunn (2), Chris Warburton and Pete Thomas. Dean Smith scored the Calstock consolation. Calstock deserve credit for turning up and competing to the extent of their ability, which was totally respected by the home club, but it was a pity that only 3 or 4 of their players accepted the hospitality that was offered and even their manager and his assistant, after being specifically invited, did not come back afterwards where our local pub had laid on food. It would have been nice to have been told that they were not coming back when we confirmed the game, but they do not seem to have a secretary. Even straight after the game , the manager never said he would not be coming back. Poor show from an established Duchy club, obviously hitting hard times, but you have to do things properly otherwise you will never get better and get your club back on the right path.

I suppose in duchy football the red was harsh, but the player in question continuously pulls or kicks players running beyond! Eventually it will catch up.

You started very well and had us shook but didn't continue the pressure!

Hope you get a good result midweek and look forward to renewing our rivalry next year. I think there is a mutual respect between the sides.

The rivalry is definitely good for our young squad, it's always good to pit yourself against a team that will push you as far as possible. The Foxhole game is next Saturday. Good luck in the cup final and hopefully see you next season.

No offence to Calstock, but the question must be raised whether they should be allowed to continue in Duchy football, their home pitch is unfit to play even at this time of year and their appears to be no foundations at the football club. Be a shame for them, but it's a harsh reality.

North petherwin res 0 : 3 veryan

Veryan completed the perfect league season with 20wins from 20 games!! Veryan had a bare 11 as we were missing 8 from our normall squad including goalkeeper elliot turner so andy whelidon stepped up an played in the sticks! Games started in a good tempo an it took veryan around 15mins to break the deadlock from the first corner of he game a bobbylee cross was met by vetern gaffer gary wheildon to head home at the near post! Petherwin played some good stuff but it wasnt long before veryan took a second goal advantage with a good move startin from andy wheildon in goal an ended with a bobby lee cross an gary wheildon to poche home at the back stick! Half time 2:0!! After the break petherwin put pressure on for the first ten but found mom aaron moyses at his best at the back an couldnt find a way through! The third goal came midway through the half wen moyses started a move an was ended with a cope through ball an bobbylee to score his 20th an first ever 20 goal season!! Over the two games against petherwin would like to say a great sporting bunch of lads an have enjoyed playing against them competitve games an good banter!! A special mention for there captain who didnt stop running the whole game!!! Now for the season break and look forward to competting in div 3!

JJ JONES DUCHY FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Pensilva wrapped up the Premier Division title in midweek so there wasn’t as much riding on their finale against runners up Saltash United. The visitors won 2-1 with Calum O’Brien and Matt Shapland hitting the target. Pensilva replied through Jon Filbey and both sets of players were presented with their trophies after the game. Saltash will now hope to go one better in the KO Cup Final at Callington this coming Tuesday against St.Dominick.

Calstock are relegated from Division One after a big 10-1 defeat at Grampound. The visitor’s tried hard throughout and deserved their consolation goal from Dean Smith five minutes from time. Grampound scored in the opening few minutes and from there it was a procession with a number of their goals being fine strikes. Shane Weeks scored four goals with Haydn Boxall and Dean Dunn getting a brace apiece. Further goals from Chris Warburton and Peter Thomas completed the rout.

St.Dominick now look favourites to take the title after beating closest rivals Padstow United 2-1. This was a hard fought game with no quarter given. Johnny Murt headed Padstow into a 20th minute lead after a cross from the left hand side. Saints drew level fifteen minutes later when Kian Armitage netted from close range. The second half was a real ding-dong battle much unlike their recent cup semi-final. St. Dominick won it five minutes from time when a Connor Pritchard-Lee cross was put away by Corey Nesbitt.

Godolphin and Looe shared a 1-1 draw which featured 3 missed penalties, two players sent off and one sub not being allowed on as he wasn't named to the ref before the game. The Godolphin took the lead in the first half, Looe then had a penalty saved by the G's stand in goalie Lee Pascoe. Pascoe's lack of goalkeeping skills came back to haunt him not long after as he didn't move as Looe fired in the equalizer. Godolphin manager Steve Carne may have invented football but he was guilty of failing to name a sub to the ref as the Godolphin sub entered the field of play only to be sent back to the bench by the referee. There were fireworks in the second half with Godolphin defender Dan Cheadle sent off for handball, Looe then fired a penalty over the bar. In the last minute a bouncing backpass saw the Looe goalie fail to clear his lines as his clearance only saw him clean out Dave Moore who had stolen the ball off him. The goalie was given a straight red. Lee Paxton stepped up to take the penalty but his tame effort was saved by the standin goalie who then brilliantly saved the rebound to keep the scores level.

Lostwithiel retain hopes of promotion after beating Edgcumbe 3-2. Edgcumbe who gave up home advantage after their first team claimed the pitch for their final ECPL game fell behind to a James Hutchings first half goal. Will Dunstone equalised after the restart, but Hutchings scored his second to restore the home lead. Edgcumbe equalised for a second tome, but Josh Cook scored the winning goal that keeps them in the promotion race.

North Petherwin miss out after losing 4-3 at Polperro. Andy Cordner scored all four home goals with Josh Sanders, Simon Oliver and Joe Reeves replying for Petherwin.

The Division Two championship will go to the wire next Saturday with Foxhole needing a win at LC Phoenix to claim the title on goal difference from St.Minver. Phoenix were also still in the title race before the start of play needing to beat their two title rivals in their final two games. However, St.Minver were in no mood to relinquish their hopes winning 3-0 with goals from Joe Robinson, Ben Beesley and Jason Northcott. St.Minver go into their League Cup final with Callington at St.Breward on Thursday knowing they have done as much as they can and will hope for Phoenix to take at least a point off Foxhole.

Lifton secured a fourth place finish in Division Three after winning their final game 2-1 at Lanreath. Shane Carroll scored both visiting goals with Tyler Collins replying for Lanreath.

Division Four champions Veryan completed a 100 percent league campaign with a 3-0 win at North Petherwin reserves to close a very successful season. Player-manager Gary Wheildon scored twice with Bobby Lee Johns adding their other goal.

Tintagel take third on goal difference from North Petherwin after drawing their last game at Mevagissey three all. Adam Price scored a brace with Shaun Keeble adding the other visiting goal. Mevagissey who still remain in relegation trouble replied through Chris Solomon, Bevis Robins and Ryan Morcom.

Southgate Seniors guaranteed a fourth place finish in Division Five after beating St.Minver reserves 6-0. Tom Wyman scored four times to take him to 34 for the season. Scot Bloomfield and Reece Heyward completed the scoring.

Tregrehan Mills are third after a 3-2 win at Standard Inn. Dean Dingle, Alan Sabine and Tom Foster scored for Mills with Zach Rosen and Louis Dulling replying.
