Russell Hall Cup Final

Chacewater Res. 2 Holman SC Res. 0 h/t 0-0

Chacewater retained the cup thanks to two late goals by leading scorer Ian Bromwell. They also had goalkeeper Jamie Wilson to thank for two outstanding saves in the second period.

Thanks to Holmans for a clean and hard fought match and to referee Andrew McKnight and his assistants Jack Rosenfeld and Mike Glanville who were superb.

St Agnes 1-5 Mawnan

Winning finish to the season for Mawnan. Mawnan took a 1-0 lead and could have scored a couple more but let St Agnes back into the game from a well worked free kick before half time.

The first 10 minutes of the second half St Agnes pressed but once Mawnan scored their 2nd they relaxed and made it a good 5-1 victory

Thanks Phil.

Martin and I are very proud of all the lads this year.

Massive effort to win both league and cup with pretty much the same 16 players we've had all season..

Typical cup final last night scrappy early exchanges not to much in terms of quality from either side .i don't think it would be unfair to say that we were the more disappointed at half time with the score at 0-0

Second half we made full use of the rolling subs system to freshen things up And to give everyone a game. As Nigel pointed out 2 top class saves from Jamie in the chace goal.. Was a major difference in the final score

A tenacious Ian Bromwell scored both our goals very late on in the game and the celebrations followed.late into the night.

Holmans should be proud of their performance and if that can translate into. Performances on a Saturday should be much higher up the league next season.

Thanks to illogan for having us.

Good to see some old faces from days gone by
