Dave Deacon
From the club today :City overcame considerable odds to secure their first win of the new season, 4-3 at Evesham United last night, thanks to a goal five minutes from time by Les Afful.Danny Clay and Martin Watts were both unwell and did not travel.Marcus Martin was substituted at half-time after talking a calf knock. Skipper Jake Ash was also a casualty with an ankle injury, sustained in the first half. He came off immediately after scoring to make it 2-2. Both will be assessed tomorrow night, but currently both "hopeful."Andy Watkins, scorer of City's opening goal in the 35th minute, came off towards the end after tiring, but otherwise there was no recurrence of the calf strain that kept him out of the opening match against Chesham United."Andy played ever so well and came through okay," says player-manager Lee Hodges. "It was really good to get that first win under our belts and I was delighted with the lads' performance. It was a great first half display. We played with confidence and set out our stall very impressively and were very solid at the back."The injuries were disruptive but I thought we showed great character in coming back from behind to win in a topsy-turvy second half."Now City prepare for Saturday's visit to Bedford Town, who have drawn their first two matches. It will be a reunion for Lee with Bedford manager Ady Williams - the pair were together in their Reading days.

Tony
Hell - how does a side in that level of football survive on an attendance of 118?
St Darren
for a start they probably don't pay players over £200 a game! also, travelling costs are a lot less
