The Club want to stay (generally) local so this is a good appointment. I don't see a huge list of other suitable candidates! Been at the club for many years and well liked by everyone, players included. Has cut his teeth at Veryan this season - I know that's a completely different level but everyone has to start somewhere. From what I gather Damo was very keen to have the job and that counts for a lot. He'll also work closely with the excellent 2nd team manager who's helping to bring lots of good youngsters through. There's no guarantee of success but good luck to him and whoever will be assisting him.

This is why St Austell had to erect various fences before the FA Vase semi.....ground perfectly ok for the q/f with a crowd of 1400+ but suddenly it's dangerous for the semi due to potential stone throwers.....despite the fact that a 5/6 foot high fence doesn't stop you lobbing stones over if you feel so inclined. Sure every club would gladly tarmac all car park/standing areas to improve facilities if they could afford to. Maybe they could share out some of £3m earmarked for the white elephant being proposed near Truro

Thought St Austell played very well last night against Parkway and deserved at least a point, especially in the 2nd half. Well done however to Parkway for gaining promotion. I may be in the minority but I wish St.Austell had taken their chance in recent seasons when they could have taken promotion. I know the travelling is an issue but it would have been great to give it a go and if Bodmin, Tavy, St A etc had taken it when the opportunity arose the Western League (or Southern maybe!) would have several "local" teams in it by now. It's like having kids, if you wait till you can afford it you never will so good luck to Parkway in the future.

Yes - Tavy to Southampton OK In St Austell's epic season we went to Folland Sports in Southampton, Dartford and Glossop...best part of 7 hour coach trip each way! Wouldn't have missed those trips for anything - never moan about the travel, great fun and memories (hopefully to be repeated again one day!!)
