Guest AlanB
The result of the Combo Select - NAC game was a 2-1 win for the Select team. A heavy muddy pitch at Porthleven didn't help the football although it was still an entertaining match with spells of good football being played. A close game that could have gone either way was settled in the last minute when Dom Pullen scored his second of the night. He also had a spot kick saved but, the pen shouldn't really have been awarded so probably just desserts. The disappointing side to it was the low attendance and the late withdrawal of some players. Look forward to this fixture becoming an annual game once again.
local_boy
Why don't the combo select side play the winners of the ombo league (truro)??
cornishteddyboy
Years ago the previous seasons league winners used to play a select 11 at the start of the following season. From the website:- "At the start of the next season, the 1959/60 Champions played a match against the rest of the league and the score was Porthleven 6-7 Combination League." gillo10
Anyone know the side following the withdrawl of some players? Guessing some were injured with games being played the night before. Also what about those who thought the game was beneath them, name and shame?
