hammers
Falmouth played well last night, Torpoint are never an easy team to play, Falmouth's new striker Gardener is a very usefull player he was everywhere, but the whole team played some good football, with a bit more luck going their way should have won by at least three clear goals, the officials were on the whole very good, but there was one bad incident where a torpoint player retaliated by kicking a Falmouth player after he was brought down, apart from that, last night the Falmouth team were strong, & attackedTorpoint right through the game, it was only good defence that kept them out, Torpoint had their chances as well but on the whole without being accused of being onesided, Falmouth were the better team. :c:

Mike Odgers
FALMOUTH TOWN 1 TORPOINT ATHLETIC ! h/t 1-0 Agreed Hammers',Lloyd Gardner is growing in stature by the game and is a fine prospect. I thought skipper Rob Francis showed by example with a competitive performance and rewarded with a top corner strike after 38 mins. Falmouth generally controlled the game and should have put it to bed after Andy Bowker delayed too long with a one on one(has not scored in his last 5 outings) and was it Glen Squires who had his open goal thwarted by Syndecombe. Torpoint deservedly equalised in the 74th.minute following sustained passing and possesion when a twice taken free kick by Bradley Yeo left Murphy spectating. Town were up against it for the final 10 as Dominic Rivans saw yellow for the second time and was dismissed for the second time this season although Darren Burchell was unlucky with a shot from distance clipping the crossbar. . So both games ended 1-1 which keeps Falmouth 4 points ahead of Torpoint in 6th spot but Town did move above Dartmouth into 4th. FALMOUTH--Nathan Murphy;Dominic Rivans(B22.B83);Fergus Nevin;Neil Bettis;Brinton Nute(B84);Rob Francis(Captain);Darren Burchell;Ben Goldring;Ben Davies(Matt Godfree h/t);Andy Bowker(Glen Squires 64min);other sub Dave Rawlings: TORPOINT -- Joey Syndecombe(B50);Chris Todd;Gary Williams(Captain)Jamie Evans(B84);Matt Hawke;Darren Veale;Bradley Rowe;Mike Roberts;Adam Carter;Darren Hicks(Luke Avis-Riodan 70m);Dominic Burn(Rob Eddie58min)(Liam Thornton 82m); Referee Steve Annis. Mawgan-Assistants Wynroe Heath and Paul Minns from Camborne Corners FT7 TA 4 Estimated attendance 90 The Falmouth football followers dont seem to turn out for evening games-It was perfect conditions,No TV attraction but could it be Truro Home on the same night?
