Tough night at the office for Torpoint at The Mill. Brixham fully deserved their win but a few sliding doors moments did frustrate the new Western League side. Coming in to last night's game they hadn't won in their opening 3. However, they dominated the majority of the first half but found themselves 1-0 down at the break thanks for an Owen Haslam header from a decent Josh Pope cross against the run of play. A superb drive from distance from Sean Thomson smashed back off the post and the rebound was side footed high and wide from Lorenz when well placed, should have put Torpoint 2-0 up. During this small period of play late in the half Brixham looked a little down and out but it didn't last long. They should've been ahead at the break themselves based on chances created and their stranglehold on the game, but as it is with this league they almost got taught a valuable lesson. A 1-0 deficit was harsh after Parry, Robinson and Parkin were causing us problems and we couldn't put our foot on the ball.

The 2nd half though our visitors were not deterred but the next sliding doors moment went their way as Jason Richards was shown a straight red early in the half to huge disagreement from the home side following a tussle in the centre circle with Brixham skipper Parkin. The incident also saw a sin bin for Hicks which did seem harsh. It was Parkin himself who got the equaliser with a good downward header after a left foot cross from the right hand side, Parry I think, after he worked himself some space on the corner of the box to swing the ball in. Brixham took the lead 15mins later when Harford fired home and he'd been a nuisance all evening. From there they sort of eased off the gas and the longer this went on I thought they were asking for trouble as a 1 goal lead is often not enough and they looked too comfortable. They didn't seem to push on against 10 men and the Torpoint forward line were not giving up. A very very late set piece had a Torpoint chance supposedly stopped on the line, but I'm convinced the keeper who was a yard over the line, on the deck and tangled in the net didn't manage to keep the ball out. The referee disagreed and no goal awarded.

Full Time 1-2 to Brixham. A deserved win for the visitors and they'll certainly do ok in this league. A strong and fit side with the 3 forwards in Parkin, Parry and Robinson each having their own qualities who will cause teams problems.

saltash 1 falmouth 3... att 170 ...  40 odd away fans

short and sweet........bit scrappy ping pong game , saltash  created a few chances mainly long shots from reece, falmouth on the break, were fast with  precise passing opened up the saltash defence easy , and scored 3 good goals, this is the second time i have seen  saltash this season and im afraid  the other teams look faster and move the ball quicker,  hoping there is not many more evening games at waterways as it was hard to pick out Falmouth's grey away kit under Saltash's dim lights from behind the goal

Agree that Saltash are conceding so many goals and the defence is just not strong enough. Do not understand great young strikers on the bench Tyler love Holmes and Josh Johnson. Noticed Josh Toulson not in line up is he injured? a valuable play maker. Saltash need to be more organised and some players need to play a full match? Ironic that Millbrook and Saltash at the bottom.
